Great review! Though you sound almost depressed I still really dig the look of this guy, and don't have an issue with the scale or head size, but I didn't see all the damn hinges until watching your video. Wow. Does seem like a cheap kind of way out to just keep using hinges to form the waist, shoulders, etc.

would love to know which transformers and MP's that you consider "passable" to you? There is no perfect transformers in any series because you can always pick apart something in these toys.Is Magnus perfect? of course not! but neither is most of the MP's/3rd party figures we buy...I could care less who designs these as long as they look good and don't break when I transform them (which is rare).So,looking at my display right now,I am about 10 more G1 transformers away from complete contentment.My ONLY disappointment with these are mostly QC

Passable means they're not great but they still get a pass, not that I passed on them.

Self contained is IMO the right option, they just used the wrong designer. Hasui or Yuki would have nailed it.

Or even better, they could have ignored Magnus altogether for the time being and got the new Megatron done.

He was my very first TF as a kid, so there's something that just makes me smile when I see him. It's not everybody's cup of tea, and I respect everyone's views here when it comes to TF's (except Teemu's)

Too bad for me the amazing run had to come such an end but whatever, ignoring Takara will free up some cash so it's not like it's the end of the world.

Which Ironhide rumor? There's been so many that it's difficult to keep track
