Do you know what's occurred to me recently Takara might just as well give up & focus on something else

The way these 3P's are barrelling along knocking it out the park with amazing figures of characters fans want makes Takara seem almost pointless now

I'd sooner give them my money than Takara now

Takara still sets the standard for these figures IMO. But it's great to have options for figures that Takara isn't willing to do for whatever reason, like Blitzwing.

Takara have to step it up or they will allow their competitors to start stealing their customers (already happened to me). I think they only have 2 figures for 2015 and that is Star Saber and Tracks. There next offering is Thundercracker? That is not going to do it. There is no way they can just sit there and let there competition slowly close in. Are they out of ideas or creative engineers? I think since other 3P companies have gained so much momentum, in order to get back their fan base, Takara needs to come out with figures that are not being currently offered like Stunticons, Aerialbots, Combaticons, Predcaons, Metroplex, Trypticon, and finish off the Dinobot lines? After which they can go back and continue the car line with Jazz and Sunstreaker.

problem with takara is they just want to make one mold (maybe 2) a year and milk it for many variants...I don't have time for that!

3rd party is making collecting MP's fun while Takara will just leave you with gray hair waiting for another new character.

Fan Toys and other companies are doing just that (producing quality MP's with many new characters).Takara just wants to drop the ball and take their old time while the fans just get older

Eh, I think they're doing fine. Bumblebee and Wheeljack weren't released all that long ago, Tracks is on the way, and Ironhide should be going up for PO pretty soon. But I don't feel a huge rush. We'll get figures when we get them. My collection is pretty sizable as-is. Though I do appreciate the 3rd party supplements here and there.

I love some of the 3rd party stuff but I've seen some negative post toward Takara that make it seem like some have gone cuckoo. Talking out of their heads like they don't care if Takara never releases anything else!

Well, I might just get the red Bumblebee as a stand-in for Cliffjumper. A bit disappointed they haven't gone all the way there yet, but it would require some pretty extensive retooling.

I'll be getting Beachcomber and Wind Charger if the quality is good enough, as well as Scourge, Cyclonus, Galvatron and Inferno. I cant believe how fast X-transbots are dropping reveals Is the red Bumblebee supposed to be serious, I assumed it was a photoshop Great for people who want it but I have no interest as I don't even know who the character is.

I'd love to see a legit Cliffjumper but I don't imagine Takara going for his squashy cartoon alt mode and I don't know how much I'd like a realistic version. I kind of like the red Bee because I remember finding red Bumblebees when I was a kid.

I think that 3P Windcharger looks pretty cool. I always hate seeing his corpse in the 86 massacre.

In the magazine where red Bumblebee was revealed there's a quote from a Takara rep that's been translated which says something like "We realise this isn't Cliffjumper and nobody should think it is".

The problem with that statement is they also said something similar about Tigertrack and Sunstreaker.....Sideswipe's bro is still nowhere to be seen despite the Lamborghini deal being in place for several years.

The major obstacle to Cliffjumper is a license from Porsche.

A guy at TFW who has worked in the car industry posted that Porsche are apparently more difficult to work with than the other VW Group companies as they're more seperate from the parent company.

Is it possible a deal could be reached? Of course.

But I don't think the Takara bean counters see any profit to be made from Minibots not named Bumblebee.

MP21-R is apparently just called red Bumble and is a nod to the variant that showed up in the original toy line, there was a yellow Cliffjumper as well.

I'm certain that some 3rd party outfits will release Cliffjumper heads. And that's one of the main reasons I might go for that figure, considering that I'll keep him in Bot-mode. Colors still aren't 100% accurate to the cartoon, but until something else comes to fill the void. . .

Thanks for the explanation thecorsair, I never knew there was a red version of Bumblebee That does make it a bit less random than it seemed to me at first but I'll still be skipping this release.

Works for me as well for that reason. though i did Drop out of the 1/6th game a while back.

Red Bumble looks neet, glad to see Him. I'd be suprised if we DiDN'T see an actual cliffjumper eventually though.
