I have the grey FT Shockwave, but the new Takara version will be a nice addition. I hope they have a grey variant.

you're shockwave.

Well a different type of shockwave...............:wink1:

Cant wait until next year these are two much needed MP's. Anyone wanna guess whats coming next? Ill play it safe and say the next few revealed are
MP Ratchet
MP Diaclone Black Tracks (TT summer exclusive)
MP Hound
MP Diaclone Ultra Magnus
MP Mirage

So far 2016 is looking like this,

Ironhide
Clampdown
Hot Rod
Shockwave
Optimus Primal

Agreed on Ratchet, the existence of the Ironhide mold confirms him.

If there's another new Decepticon mold, I reckon it might be Galvatron.

More repaints are likely....they can still get Deep Cover from the MP12 mold, several more Bumblebee variants & black Ironhide as well as the variants you mentioned.

What we really need is a TT MP Megatron.

**** yeah. If they can pull Shockwave as perfectly as they did, I can't wait to see what they have in store for the inevitable Megs 2.0. It's just a matter of time, folks.

im happy with the x-transbot megatron

It's not a bad looking replacement until the real one comes out, that is. But I'm going to Ho ahead and assume that Galvatron will be first, for which you won't see me complaining.

MP Jazz and Hound are my wild guesses as to what comes next though. Maybe Sunstreaker too.

As far as reprints go, Diaclone Magnus is a given (will be bought)

A gray and a clear Shockwave might happen also.

I'm in the camp that doesn't see how they can improve on Apollyon, but I'd like to be proven wrong. With that being said, since I'm satisfied with Apollyon, I'd love for them to tackle Reflector.

Takara could certainly improve in the quality department, but aesthetically you could be right.

People assumed, said, and flat-out stated it as fact that TT could never improve on Shockwave. See how that worked out.

I seriously don't know what those guys aren't capable of doing anymore, but I love that I was proven wrong.

anime export has some fantastic pricing too, but I'll wait for HLJ, as they won't charge me till he ships :D
What does anime export charge for shipping to the States on a car-sized Masterpiece figure, and larger Masterpiece figures like Ultra Magnus? I'm having a hard time finding a shop that actually saves me some money when all is said and done. Thanks!

What I do to get my shipping quote from Anime Export is find a Masterpiece that has been released already (like Wheeljack for car bots or Prime for Magnus for example) and on the right hand side of the item page it will give you an item weight & a packaged weight (packaged weight is the weight when shipped including packaging etc.) I then enter that weight (in grams) into their shipping calculator & it gives me a rough guide as to what to expect when they do ship.

Hope that helps?

Neil

It does, thanks Neil! So if these estimates are accurate, I'd be looking at:

$61 for Hot Rod ($47 + $14 4-day shipping)

$145 for Ultra Magnus ($105 + $39 4-day shipping)

$126 for Shockwave ($99 + $27 4-day shipping)

Altogether, that'd net me a savings of about $103 versus buying them domestically.

Debating weather or not to get a second UM.

You'd think is a given that Hasbro will release it domestically.... $145 is not all that bad.

Your opinion.

I'm still not sure TT have improved on Quakewave.
I prefer the bigger chest and the curves on the legs on the new TT Shockwave.
I prefer the head design and the backpack/transformation on Quakewave.
I am also willing to bet the new TT shockwave is half the weight and we don't know the build quality yet.

Declaring TT an outright winner before anyone even has one in hand seems premature to me.

I've given up waiting for Hasbro to deliver Masterpieces domestically unless it's either a) a figure that'd be nice to have but I can live without or b) a figure I'd love to have but unwilling to pay Takara Tomy prices (like MP-11 Starscream).

The only one of the three I'm for sure in for is Shockwave; I'm still unsure if I want to branch out into Masterpieces beyond Season One. But Hot Rod is nice, and if I got him I'd need to have Ultra Magnus as an accompanying piece. And if I pass on them now, I may be kicking myself when the highly-rumored Masterpiece Galvatron shows up later next year...

The only one that matters.

And the opinion of thousands that are selling their QW's as we speak.

Also, Quakewave's backpack parts-form, it doesn't actually (cleverly) makes a difference on the TT's version if you use it or not.

Weight is irrelevant to me TBH, they go on a display and stay there. I don't actually play with them even though is tempting sometimes. ;)

No one is saying QW is a bad toy. Is a great robot resembling Shockwave and a fine addition to ones collection.

I'd just rather get the superior version to my eyes.
