I think FT Grimlock and Giga Power Grimlock will both be better than a lazy ripoff of a dated mold.

I would have to disagree, there's only two things Takara could have done to make Grimlock perfect, make him bigger, and produce the rest of the Dinobots. I really don't see how Fantoys makes a better Grimlock considering their offers are supposed to stand in with MP Grimlock and they work perfectly for that. GIGAPOWER has me interested as their Dinobots are HUGE so I'm very tempted to see what they do, but if this OS company makes a black and grey version, I'll most likely pick that up as I do love the mold.

wow that's dirt cheap on that prime! dunno how it can be that cheap as i've heard other guys saying it costs $50 in china to buy... so w/ shipping to us, seems too good to be true! wonder if it's one of them pump and dump scams you see all the time. rack up 5 grand in sales in a few days the disappear!

I now think it is possible the oversized $50 Prime is a scam. The seller's other listings are at unbelievable prices and when a forum poster at TFW2005 reported the item, they were give the following message: "The listing has items being sold without the owner's authorization."

That's always the risk you take with outright KO's. If they aren't a scam then the quality is usually poor.

The first impressions of this figure is that it is actually really good. The joints seem to be even tighter than my takara and hasbro versions. Most of the KO Transformers masterpiece figures seem to be a high-quality.

Guttur is like a true work of art by GIGA. It is MASSIVE, and feels heavy. BUT you can pose the hell out of him, I'm actually tempted about grabbing the chrome version.

Having that said, if TT outright redesigns Grimmy and releases all Dinobots I truly hope they do it sooner rather than later... At $200 each, these Dino's (GIGA's) aren't exactly cheap and I wouldn't want to go the Quakewave route and lose money. GIGA would likely stop making them or go out of business. They don't have FT's catalog to resist such blow to the nuts.

Dated mold is A bit harsh no? Wasn't he considered one of the best MP molds?

I never owned the original because even then, I felt he was too small when compared to MP01. So I held out for a hopeful redo. And gigapower have only just revealed HQ-02...I think it's gonna be a lonnnng while before we see a grimlock from them. FT haven't even revealed theirs yet as well. I've always wanted a grimlock, and this might itch that scratch for me. It'll go real nice with my guttur!

My thoughts exactly. Its a decent figure and goes well with the aesthetics of the newer fans toys and giga power offerings

I still don't care.

Nothing you can say will sell me on the figure, it's an out of date Takara design that I've no intrest in.

I think he's talking about the oversized MP 10, bud.

Doh! that's what happens when I use my computer when I should be sleeping.

It took me the best part of 4 years to come round to buying the regular sized MP10, I have nowhere in my collection for an oversized version regardless of quality.

Yeah, as nice as it looks I don't think I want to go that route. He's going to look out of place I think.

I think he will definitely look out of place next to the more recent MPs, even though he really isn't any taller than Ultra Magnus or Star Saber. However, the more proportionate legs and cheap price are just too nice to pass up. I may try to find a parted out Hot Toys stand and display him with my 1/6th scale collection, even though he is not actually 1/6h scale.

As youre so often keen to point out, its his opinion mate so sit back and relax; repeating yourself endlessly isn't going to change our minds either! Dear lord.

I think he'll look out of place just as much as MP01 does if you factor in MP10 and onwards. IMO MPP10 should be considered a stand alone piece much in the way of MP01. MP01 will always have a special place in my heart. It's still an awesome figure, but I can recognize its flaws. MP10 outclasses it in several departments save for two...articulation at the hips and size.

Well...MPP10 has taken care of one of those issues for me. I couldn't be any happier with my current two. It's friggin MP10...but just as big as MP01.
