MMC Backdraft review with a side by side comparison with Make Toys Hellfire,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mb6yfEpQtbM

Just watched it & if I'm honest seeing them side by side I prefer Make Toys Hellfire

Backdraft just looks too skinny & lanky for me
Backdraft definitely does a lot right but just not the one for me this time so I'll be sticking with what I have

Like I said before, both companies have done Inferno very well, just in different ways.

XTransbots are also doing something different as they've put the vehicle mode scale first so it'll be noticeably bigger.

I might still get Make Toys Grapple as I like the idea of him being a bit more squat and chunky, but it depends how much I like the Backdraft mold in hand.

I finished the first series of Beast Wars last night and thought it was very cool. Am really looking forward to seeing series 2!

Definitely.

Both are very good representations of Inferno so everyone should be able to find the one they really want, I just happen to feel the beefier look of Hellfire is the better one for me.

Will be interested to see what route Takara take with their vision of him.

Glad to hear you are getting through BW & enjoying it.
Season 2 ramps up the cool factor :)

In other news this happened yesterday...

Unfortunately I won't be having any of them until my birthday in June but damn they look good.

Sad I have to buy my own birthday presents for the family but at least I get what I really want this way :wink1:

If release dates hold true then June should be a mega TF month for me as Fans Toys Hound & Kickback are due along with the re-release of Bombshell all of which are on pre-order (Hound & Kickback are my Christmas presents from my parents so I'm itching to get them)
Going to be a fun time

@Soundwave. Congrats on that haul. Iron Hide is my favorite as far as fit and finish along with the feel of the figure.

Shockwave is second as far as his overal look and posability but I still don't like how his inner leg panels tab in. Just seems unfished without a gratifying click. I don't have Ratchet yet so can't comment.

Hopefully your BDay is soon because that will be hard to know they are there but can't open

I would definitely not wait until June to open them! Always check the figures as soon as you get them for QC issues! If you wait and it turns out there's an issue, you cant really do much with the retailer because so much time has passed!

( Disclaimer: The following is just my opinion. Said opinion does not make me a bad person or someone that dislikes every single thing Takara does in the MP line so don't give me any **** :wink1: :lol )

Those 3 figures are not my cup of tea but congrats on the haul all the same. I hope you like the figures when you get to open them!

Moving on,

Series 2 of Beast Wars has been decent so far, I really like Quickstrike as a character and as a toy and think Rattrap's vehicle mode is awesome!

My next couple of months of Transformers looks like this,

FT Kickback, Sludge & Hound
MMC Inferno

So that'll be the Insecticons and Dinobots finished whilst I still only have a couple of grey hairs on my head, the last '84 carbot I'm after and another cracking addition to my '85 Autobot shelf :yess:

Way to piss on someones chips there ^^

Need advice please. What are the best Devastor sets to go for? Ive lost track now. Its an itch that needs scratching and i want a set on display. Just which one though?!

I would go with one of the recent, officially produced sets. They aren't MP-quality, but they look on par with just about anything else out there, and will run you about $300+ less than anything else. I've seen the Hasbro one discounted significantly, on top of that. Until a true, MP-quality set comes out, I wouldn't do anything more than that.

My concern with a Triple Changer is that there's a lot more potential for something to go wrong than a character like Blaster who turns into little more than a box and KFC's track record doesn't inspire any confidence as a customer.

I can't wait for either Fans Toys or Takara to finally tackle Astrotrain and Blitzwing.

I'll probably go with the Takara Devastator. Mixmaster in alt mode and Long Haul in robot mode are pretty laughable but they clean up quite nicely once they're combined as Devy.

I'd be intrested in seeing Fans Toys or MMC tackle a Triple Changer.

Here's the new Action Toys licensed Machine Robo line which offers 5" scale figures of characters that got repackaged as Gobots for the Western markets,

Alt modes,

Grey prototypes for the following have also been shown at recent toy shows,

Spay-C
Snoop
Turbo
Fitor
Block Head

I always liked the smaller Gobots in comparison to their G1 counterparts and am tempted to get some of these new ones.

Corsair we havent discussed United recently! Strangely, we have yet another chance to sneak undeservedly closer into the 4th spot with City playing Arsenal after a hard game against Madrid. Crazy season.

If there was ever a category for "most pointless release ever" this would win it:

That looks pretty cool, considering I just got back into collecting this might be the version I go with to own. Base on the mold that probably looks like my favorite design yet for a figure of Optimus, considering I don't have one yet this might be the one I pick up. really depends on what it looks like when it's painted.
