The quality on the OS KOs is actually really good and believe it or not I like the way they display WAY better than the normal MPs. The Ironhide in particular blew my mind seeing it in hand.

I may be wrong but to me it looks like Wei Jiang have a slightly better build quality over Tanaka.

Is this a correct observation?

I ask because I really want an oversized Sideswipe but I’d wait for a Wei Jiang version if this is true.

I've only handled WeiJang and can't attest to anything else. I'm not a KO collector by trade but just happened to have gotten hands on time with that brand specifically.

All of the WEI JIANG figures I've purchased are MUCH higher quality than Hasbro. You can't go wrong with any of their OS Primes.

Overall it's a pretty darned solid toy but just a few minor quirks and missing details keep it from being in that "perfect'ish" scoring tier. For the price however, it's hard to not recommend such a fun and nice looking piece that I'd say is arguably the Arcee figure to buy at MP scale right now. We have our first report of the Possible Price And Release Date Of Masterpiece MP-44 Convoy (Optimus Prime) Version 3.Action Robo on Facebook, has shared a solicitation for the new mold of the upcoming MP-44 Convoy/Optimus Prime, indicating that it is scheduled for release on August, 2019. Two items per case.
Now… the price. The listing indicates not-so-economic 50000 Yen, which means this figure will be around $440. If this comes to be confirmed, this will be the most expensive Masterpiece release to date. As usual, take this with a grain of salt until we get more listings or information.

Are people actually reading that correctly? I thought people were saying the JPY50,000 price was a retailer price for 2, not 1 figure? At JPY25,000, that would make the figure around US$220 each, which is something I'm definitely willing to pay for upgraded toy engineering and cartoon aesthetics that match MP-36 Megatron.

If it does turn out to be US$440, I guess I'd just have to put something else aside and save up the money for it. But I cant see myself passing on it at this stage. I'd be very surprised if it was that expensive though. Nothing in the MP series has ever come close to that amount!
