I'll wait for the Wei Jiang version of MP44 instead. $450 is too much and ridiculous. It doesn't matter how much accessories it comes with, they're not Hot Toys level. Now that I think about it, I don't even buy Hot Toys these days that has that kind of price.

It's approx. the same size as MP10 Prime or MP36 Megatron.

Here's the list of accessories included according to a post on Weibo. Half of those are useless and will just sit in the box. Still doesn't justify the price tag IMHO.

- main body X1 (Optimus Prime)
- compartment X1 (trailer)
- cabin anti-aircraft gun X1
- small ball X1 (Roller)
- energy axe X1
- beam special effects X2
- laser rifle X1
- energy treasure X1 (the matrix)
- Rocket Backpack X1 (Jet pack)
- Replacement Head Carving X1 (Different face)
- War Damage Head X1
- Battle Damage Chest Parts X1
- character card X1

Don't care about these ones...

- energy supply tube X1 (fuel hose for Roller)
- Spike X1
- Carly X1
- Spike Pula X1 (Sparkplug)
- Starscream Head X1 (to re-enact when Starscream is dressed up as Prime)
- Starscream Wings Accessories X1 (most probably the shoulder pylons to re-enact when Starscream is dressed up as Prime)
- An Unknown Item X1

The full review for Fans Hobby's MB-06A Purple Power Baser is up! https://kumastyledesigns.com/fans-hobby-purple-power-baser-review/

Since this is direct repaint of MB-06A Black Power Baser I kept this article pretty short and sweet. Overall it's a great deco of what I feel is one of the best 3P TFs to release in the past two years. Here are some pics from the gallery portion:

BBTS prices are sometimes over-estimates that they use as placeholders, but I've never seen them as far off as they should be with this guy. If this is, in fact, the price he's sold for, then **** this toy and Takara.

On the bright side, chances are he will be sold by Hasbro for a lesser cost, but it may be near impossible to find at retail.

I'm not surprised, look at MP Megs, Dinobot, than BW Megs. The prices increase ridiculously with each release, worse than Hot Toys. Takara has lost their god damn minds, I'm sure the inevitable KO version will be cheaper.

$450 is def retail... which is disgusting! these people should be ashamed of themselves!

preorders up at tfsource, bbts, tdojo, etc...

I legitimately cannot fathom how they thought this was a reasonable price. I don't care how much engineering they packed into it - theres no possible way it justifies that price tag. I'm sure a lot of us collectors on this board COULD afford it (or save up to afford one) but I don't see why anyone WOULD with that price tag and when it cannot be so much better than the previous MP Optimus to warrant the extra several hundred dollars.

Asian retailers starting to list their MP-44 preorders. Price is much cheaper than US prices from RK! Will be interesting to see what the Japanese retailers like Amiami list it for. I'll be waiting for the Amiami price first before I decide where to preorder. Definitely wont be from the USA lol!

Hmmm...I was really looking forward to MP-44, but if this price ends up being accurate, the Magic Square Optimus is starting to look like a pretty good option.

Yeah, this is one of the most baffling things I've seen in all the time I've paid attention to toys. I can't figure out what is going on here. Is it really a reflection of the costs involved? Or are they just seeing what they can get away with? Is there something to this guy that I'm not seeing somehow? Maybe he's full die cast, transforms on his own, and comes with a remote control so you can drive his cab around the house while honking his horn and flashing his lights?

So is the price for real? A couple of days ago it was tentative but how big is mp-44???? Is it all diecast? What am i missing???
