Here's my look at the new TF Masterpiece MP-42 Cordon. It's another great Diaclone homage by Takara!

Transforming Cordon back into alt mode reminded me why I hate transforming these MP figures! Took me around 40mins to get it back into alt mode due to that damn rotating windscreen!

Luckily everything pegged back into place nicely and it looks great! Love the display with both Cordon and Clampdown!

The article breaks this thing down but overall it's an extremely solid and articulated piece that shows very quickly in-hand why the price is so high. Here are a few shots from the 20-picture gallery:

I was really impressed with MP-42 Cordon after I unboxed. But I have to say with MP-17+ Prowl, I'm a little underwhelmed. The flat white paint app is not very impressive in hand, and there is a bit of sloppiness in other areas of the paint and the accessories.

Not up to the standards I was expecting, but will see how it goes when I transform to bot mode.

I had my first new arrival in a long time at the weekend in the shape of Fans Toys Quietus & he's a stunner as usual








Love Nightstick as well he is a technical masterpiece







And the extras to turn him into the IDW comic version is a lovely touch too





Not transformed him as the horror stories about the horrific Transformation sequence & potential for bad panel fit has put me off attempting it.

I'm super pleased with him though & can't wait to see their take on Scourge

I was a little underwhelmed straight out of the packaging. But this new MP-17+ Prowl does come into its own in bot mode. I prefer the original in car mode due to an overall better paint app and details. But in bot mode I prefer this new version. Video review coming soon so stay tuned

I should be able to get some pics next to Megatron tonight as I still have him at home (Will be under artificial light though as it will be too dark when I get in)
My Optimus Prime & Fans Toys Galvatron are both packed away in storage following the house move but I might be able to get Galvatron back at the weekend if you would like pics with him too...might even have easy access to Ultra Magnus still as well

Apologies in advance if you've been asked this like a gazillion times before but what display bases are you using in that pic? I've seen a few similar ones but I haven't seen that EXACT one before. I like the look of em.
Cordon looks like a nice addition to the collection by the way. I've been collecting MPs for a few years now. If I had more money and display space I'd probably go for stuff like diaclone repaints but as it is I've pretty much got to stick to the core cast and even then I don't get everything.

Do you mean the orange and purple backgrounds I'm using in the photos? Those are the X2 Toys BG-A and BG-B backgrounds. You can get them from Big Bad Toy Store.

Just about to dip my toe into TF for the first time.

I like the oversized scale and I’m only planning to have 4 or 5 total. I also like the cel shaded look but I haven’t found any available. Are those only custom repainted?

Not sure if my first purchase will be MPP-10z Damaged Prime or MPF-12 SideSwipe.

Any huge known problems with either of these?
