Are you set on MP-44 or would a KO work for you? I bought one from Amazon for around $120 with a flat back and it suprisingly had no problems. You can also get them with a silver waist and thighs. Also the Magic Square Light of Freedom 2.0 MP version that I got also was problem free. If Magic Square offer a painted version or metallic version, that may be the best of them all.

I have MP-44 in my display now but thinking of switching it out with the Magic Square.

Official MP-44 are really expensive. Hopefully someone can hook you up with one at a decent price.

Talking about this?
https://tfsource.com/3rd-party-figures/ms-02-light-of-peace-magic-square/How are they inn terms of quality, arriving without breaks and how about adding decals etc?
Plus, that's not a cheap option... heck, why not get the official? How do these stand up to quality of materials, construction etc?

Are you looking to only buy stateside? I stay away from TFSource these days as they tend to be overpriced on most things and especially for 3rd Party figures like that Magic Square “light of peace.”

TFSource is charging about $80 more than what ShowZStore and other retailers have charged for it. Cheaper places may be overseas but most tend to have great customer service if you have any breakages/issue and you still get your items pretty fast considering they're coming across the globe. I'm personally waiting on Magic Square to release a painted version myself before I buy one.

But there's a KO of the MP44 mold as well. The latest version has the best QC (I have 2) but no chrome, mostly colored plastic instead of fully painted and the electronics removed to have a flatter backpack. You can get it for about $90 overseas but the $120 is more in line with the stateside pricing. While I typically prefer painted vs colored plastic, the official MP44 was known to have a couple QC issues like paint chipping and the knees very easily breaking due over-engineering by Takara. If you just want to experience the mold, the KO is a good option vs paying the $500-$600 price the official goes for and not worrying about the QC issues that go with it. Search WanXiang KO MP44 and that should bring it up. There’s quite a few YouTube reviews as well though they’re mostly for the first run which still had some QC issues but once it got to the flat backpack, it was pretty solid. There’s one that still has the backpack and electronics called “silver legs” version that is also regarded as the best ones QC wise that has the back pack.

Where can I get the Magic Square Light of Freedom 2.0 MP at a good cost? I'm in NYC... good seller and price?
In person, does it make a huge difference; painted plastic vs. colored? What are your thoughts likes/dislikes about it?
Just informing myself.

Ahh looks like they sold through their first batch already which was about $120, so that's why it's at Pre-order now

TFSafari has him in stock for a little more at $135 but you can use one of their 3% Off coupons for some, albeit small, savings.

TF Direct has him for PO too for the next batch but they're full price is $130:

If you want it, I would just wait to see what ShowZ Store ends with as their final price. Sometimes second batch is more expensive than the first when it comes to these 3rd Party TFs, but other times that may go down in price.

See above for the places I've ordered from. By far my favorite is ShowZ Store, followed by TF Safari and then TF-Direct.

Obviously it comes down to personal preference. I don't mind colored plastic if it's rich/deep enough of the color so that it can sort of look painted without having to worry about any paint chipping. Specifically with Optimus, I prefer that real deep red color but some 3rd Party figures have something a little light/paler/not as deep in color as I would like. But everyone's mileage varies.

I would watch these two reviews of the MS Light of Peace to get a decent idea of what it may be like in person before dropping money on it.

Thanks for all the info.

What's the best decals to apply a autobot insignia on prime boy Magic square?

Here's where I got Magic Square Light of Peace 2.0 for $170:

https://www.thechosenprime.com/ms02lightofpeace
I think you get Free Shipping on anything over $150.

The Chosen Prime is a great store and I've been ordering from there for a few years. Never had a problem with service. i usually order from BBTS, The Chosen Prime and Toy Dojo. Those are my go tos.

As @EndoSickness mentioned, dry rubs are a good go-to.

I also use ToyHax who produce many sticker sets for all kinds of TFs. I even have spare retro sets for my G1 figures so that I can keep the original sticker sets unused.

At this point I would wait for an inevitable reissue if I were you, unless you can find one for $300.
True.

Also, Rose&Toys who produced a really well made KO MP Arcee with better chest pieces is making a full KO of MP44 as well so that could be an affordable option

Chosen Prime is definitely reliable especially for stateside orders. They're just usually more expensive than the overseas ones that I only order from them as a last option. Nothing against them as they have great service. For some reason, when it comes to transformers, I have a harder time spending high costs on them :lol my mind is always going back to old toy store pricing. Definitely like ToyDojo as well.

Thank you all for the replies and info. It helps.
Man, I would love to get a mp-44, and I know Takara loves re-issues. And if they decide go that route, would love land one at that point.

Newage killing it again with their newest bot: OMEGA SUPREME.

H53: Michael.

H53 Michael
Michael is the tallest in our H-series products so far. Normally the robot height is 27.8 cm and can reach to 28.5 cm by adjusting the crotch joint (29.5 cm if the antenna is counted).
The rocket part can be transformed without detaching. For the tank part, we developed a gearbox and power system all by ourselves after five-months efforts. The tank can climb and turn smoothly on the track without derailing.
In terms of flexibility, the waist is designed to have bending and turning joints. The crotch can be pulled apart, and Michael can do the kneel pose. The degree of the arm bending exceeds 90.
We uesd the best material and manufacturing process and you surely will feel it when you get Michael in your hand.

I still wish there was a middle ground between Newage engineering and Magic Square aesthetics and size. Omega will be large enough to fit into my Magic Square stuff though, so in this case it works out.

If NA would be able to intersplice a bit of the panel-foldery of MS into thir designs, to have a bit of mass shifting, they'd rule supreme. Cause I heard multiple people that said they enjoy the style and sturdiness of NA, but prefare MS' scaling.
That's an argument I can get behind.
MS on their own makes me shudder.

No question, MS scale is better. I got each of the legends primes from each company. Could never get too excited about NA prime because he was tiny and felt lifeless. The MS one looks like it stepped out of an animation cell and is such a joy to pose. But he is certainly less sturdy.

MP-56 Trailbreaker arrived yesterday, one I've really been looking forward to. Another great addition to the Masterpiece G1 Season One cast! Great transformation, great articulation, great 'toon look. Had my reservations about the charcoal grey instead of black paint they used but after photographing him a little I can see why they did it.

Here's a few from today to start out.

Beautiful pics as always @Spanbauer :clap

As much as I like the original MP13 Soundwave, I hope we eventually get a 2.0 more toon accurate one. I have the KO of the FansToys/Robot Paradize Soundwave and it's cool and all, but I think I'm just partial to the Takara style/take on the toon aesthetic.

Thank you!

I too would be up for a 2.0 of Soundwave, moreso though for a better take on his tapes. Something more akin to what Fans Toys did with them would be great.
