The Henkei versions are awesome versions man. i saw some at Botcon, and I just couldn't believe how kick ass they were, I also couldn't believe that they cost almost $35 a pop there too.

I will definately be getting him, but I am not a big fan Shocwaves head, it doesn't look like the mono eyed robot head we see on the box.......

I know Sold my Classics Megatron last weekend in favor of the Henkei version from BBTS.

thats the reason im sticking with the henkei versions. neon megatron?!? not in this house. i wasnt a fan of the yellow paint on primes head either. the henkei prime is much better.

Of course the reason for Megatron's bizarre color scheme lies in the laws we have in the US regarding toy guns -- they have to look explicitly like toys and not be mistakable for real guns. They don't have any such laws in Japan (mostly because private citizens can't have handguns, so there isn't much danger of toys being mistaken for guns).

I already had them as reissues, sold them, and have bought the Encore editions again. This collecting malarkey is a nightmare.

Oh and I'd like to pick up one of the animated toys just to see how they look, I'm tempted by the non-Cybertron Megatron (copter looks pretty cool), Blitzwing (one of my fav. G1's) and Prowl who does look pretty slick.

Anyone got any preferences or think of one that's better (not Optimus, don't like the new version at all)?
