What can I say about this wonderful masterpiece of an out-there-uber-cool popcorn flick? Other then the fact it totally kicks mondo ass! Both the girlfriend, the best friend, and myself especially, loved it. My bro and I wore Transformers t-shirts, and were two of like 40 people at the very least who were sporting some form of Transformers clothing paraphernalia. Definitely not the best movie I ever seen. Nor does it even make my top 5 favorite list, on the simple fact this is not a serious piece, and that's my usual preference. Which is well constructed and thought out dramas. But as far as entertaining movies go, and movies with amazing breath taking action sequences, it's PRIME!

This could very well be my favorite action/sci-fi/fantasy gender movie!!!

Not to mention the start of what could possibly be this fanboy's favorite movie franchise! Lets hope Michael Bay and company can hit two more grand slams out of the ball park since the actors have been inked for two more movies! Can you say trilogy? To think that Mr. Bay could make a phenomenal movie? Who would have funked it? In all seriousness he's an underrated director. Sure his historical movies maybe historically inaccurate and a lot of his other popcorn flicks are all flash and no substance, but then again, that's why they are labeled appropriately, "popcorn" flicks after all.

It's a fantastic movie because it plays a lot of homage to the original Generation 1 1980's cartoon. Not to mention it pumps you full of nostalgic goodyness and reved up modern special effects to make these big bots look ultra-realistic in our world!

For what it was, it was a 5 star movie. It nailed the source material to a tee, but overall it gets a star knocked off due to some overly cheesy and superficial scenes that even make this Transformers fan roll his eyes. Perhaps my review is a bit biased since I been a long time Transformer fan and collector and even enjoyed the R.I.D. (Robots In Disguise) episodes (yes I enjoyed them), and even tolerated some of the later adaptions of our big bots that transform into cars, jets, tanks, and all that great sheeeit that all of us guys love.

In the end, all I can say is see it with open eyes. Don't take it seriously as it is based on a toy and 1980's Saturday morning cartoon. If you can do that, you'll thoroughly enjoy this rollercoaster ride of a movie. If not, you may come out of the theatre disappointed.

P.S. To those who watched it, who didn't roll in their seats laughing when Bumble Bee was playing all of those convenient tunes for Sam to grab the attention of the girl of his affections? hehe

Why does everyone want this to be serious!? The cartoon was never that! All I wanna see is Autobots stomping some Decepticon A$$!!!

Great review by the way Eli!! :rock

Bumble Bee was one of the few things I enjoyed about this movie and really the only robot they truely tried to "flesh":D out in the personality department.

Thanks man! Everyone applauded at the end in the theatre. But that was probably also due to the fact half the people in there were hardcore Transformer nuts. Then again, if it pleases them, then it's gotta be good. Understand that those were the same fans who probably cried bloody murder when they first saw glimspes of the original character designs for the movie. I honestly don't think this movie could have been attacked any other way or been improved on. It is what it is. A movie based on a children's Saturdar morning cartoon. If people can't see beyond that, then that's their own problem.

Bumble Bee was definitely the most likable. Actually it was a tie between him and Prime. Good old Optimus had his moments as well.

This movie was Uber-awesome! The effects are amazing. I don't see how this can't win the Academy Award for best Special Effects next year. Un-freaking-believeable!

BB and OP were definately the most likeable characters. The Deceptacons were very poorly developed. Freaking Frenzy got the most screen time of them and he was almost Jar-Jar annoying and not really needed overall.

This film is easily the best blockbuster of the summer so far (and likely the whole summer). I'd give it ***1/2.

What I liked:
-realistic transforming. No rolling into a ball and instantly be transformed like the old cartoons.
- "in association with Hasbro Toys" :rotfl
- Prime being voiced by original actor
- when there wasn't action (and sometimes with), it was funny!
- original Transforming noise mixed in with some of the transformations
- The President
- Moutain Dew-bot! :lol

Didn't like
-Frenzy. Really just annoying. His last line was priceless though :lol
- Lack of Decepticon use. Blackout, Bonecrusher, and Starscream could have been completely cut and Barricade and Scorpinok were forgotten in the final battle. There was no organization there. The Decepticons could have just been Barricade, Megatron, Scorpinok, and Frenzy (and could have been even cut down more there). The others were just fluff and eye candy (which wasn't bad, but not necessary either).
- Bumblebee's "upgrade." For a car that isn't supposed to be out for a year or two, I just don't buy that one 'just happened' to be driving behind them. He should have just been one or the other. Sam didn't have to buy him at all either. Bernie Mac ripped him off.

Can't wait for Transformers 2 now (which couldn't be more obvious by the ending).

I'm officially staying away from this thread until I see the movie--- and as I promised my Transformer bud that I'd wait and see it with him (he's away out west unfortunately having to deal with a family member's serious illness---) I'm waiting IMpatiently---thus I bid you adieu until I see it.

I don't want something too cool to be revealed--that'd be a :nono

Ciao for now.

STILL AVOIDING YOU GUYS!!! (hands in front of eyes)
But I took some pics so I thought I'd post.... Love that the Classics line is continuing...

And while I probably won't get to see the movie until Friday (BAST@RDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl ) at least I've got the video game to get my fix-- and I don't know if it's karma but all of the figs I bought are the ones that I've unlocked to control in the game--- (well--except Megs...haven't seen him yet)
