If your a G1 fan, your going to love the rest of the Masterpiece line. I got all of it, I'm crazy into these. I got 4 Optimus Primes. The Japan version with the trailer and the one without, the 2 Hasbro US release the battle damaged and the 20th anniversary animated version. Oh, and don't forget Ultra Magnus, I hope they end up making a trailer/armor set to go with him in the future since he has been re-release.
Shhhhhhh.....!!!!! i dont wanna spend more money. *covers ears* "I CANT HEAR YOU!! I CANT HEAR YOU!! I CANT HEAR YOU!!"

definitely my favorite line. I have two MP-1's, Ultra Magnus, Megatron, and four of the F-15 molds, five when Thundercracker comes out:D It's be nice to get a new mold for once

Grimlock, now with waiter and brainwave transporter action!

Grimlock;
"Ultimate Valour" To be true to his character setting, "a Transformer created by a Transformer", rivets are applied all over his body. He has "Waiter Mode" included and he comes with "brainwave transport" device. He can strike dinosaur-like poses as desired. His right fist contains LED light to light up his gun and sword. Both Dino and robot mode can change eye colours. Diecast is partly used.

Siiiiiiick!! Although I love my Starscream and Megs MP, this one looks to take the cake. Already made a spot right next to Prime, waiting for him. :D

Grimlock looks awesome. Love that they kept the old school Godzilla style T-Rex mode instead of trying to update it. I hope he gets a cheaper US release.

sweet, looks like it'll transform just like the original toy:chew

With modern articulation and detailing too!
I've read a few grumbles on the TF sites about Grimlock's design not bringing anything new to the table but I think that's missing the point of the Masterpiece line as a whole which has always been about making "ultimate" versions of the G1 designs.

Had Takara chosen to take the MP line in a different direction and made War Within Grimlock or a more organic looking dinosaur mode like in some of the recent comics there's no way it would sell as well as it's likely to as only the hardcore fans are familiar with those incarnations of the character.

:lecture

As long as I don't have to spend 15 minutes transforming him like Megatron, then I don't care about engineering and design. Looks fantastic to me, very original!

Exactly! I think it says a lot for how good the original Diaclone/G1 design is that the Masterpiece version is so similar.

I think thats the beauty of these is doing a faithful update to classic designs... figure looks exactly how I would want it to :rock

You know, I've only got a few complaints about this guy:
-Legs are to tiny in beast mode, could have been a tad bigger and sit higher on the body
-The lower legs on the robot mode are a bit tiny while every other incarnation of Grimlock has massive lower legs
-Wings in robot mode are a biiiit to big

But other then that, perfect. Sure, I would have preferred a mix of G1 toy/G1 cartoon/Classics, but this is perfect as is. Must have! He even has clear plastic like on the G1 toy! :D

You people are evil. I am slowly starting to build my classic TF collection again. Each time I go to the store I pick up another one and crave more. :banghead

Got this today and all I can say is .....HOLY S#$@!!! :google

This is awesome!!!

I know it's expensive but if you can afford one pick it up.

Back to Grimmy, the prototype pics look VERY promising! Can't wait to see more!

Lucky you, My City Commander should be here tomorrow. This is my favorite figure coming out this year. BBTS is sold out right now and it's only gonna get worse for people who wanna buy them down the road. Truly an amazing figure. and Grimlock's ok too:rolleyes:
