are the new henkei versions even worth it anymore? they were good for the classics line cuz hasbro made stuff like neon green megatrons and stuff but the new universe line seems to have more accurate color schemes.


and is that ratchet just gonna be a repaint of the ironhide mold, or will he have a new headsculpt and ambulance lights and stuff?

The Henkei versions are still much better IMO.

Unlike the Hasbro versions, Takara is actually trying to make the figures look identical to their G1 counterparts. I'm usually a big supporter of Hasbro cause I do believe they are trying to make their customers happy, but when it comes to this line they've failed.

Henkei Ironhide has the stripes down the side of his vehicle mode while the Hasbro version does not.



Hasbro Cyclonus: purle and brown!!!! WTF??

Henki Cyclonus: Purple and pink. Just like his G1 counterpart.

G1 Cyclonus:

I don't collect the animated stuff, but that Wreck-Gar is tempting.

Aw man! I don't want to pay more than double the price to get the good Cyclonus. I don't know how I could possibly get the Hasbro version now though.

Just came back from walmart and picked up some Universe Deluxe. Galvatron, Sideswipe, Silverstreak, Acid Storm and Ironhide for $8.93 each. Now I need to find Prowl and Sunstreaker.

I ask because there seems to be a lack of chrome paint on it.

The only differences between both Ironhide are the stripe down the van (from what I saw in the latest official pic of Henkei Ironhide), now that Hasbro said that they're making a running change to correct the face color. And for Cyclonus, well, give me the Hasbro colors over the Photoshopped one. The only problem with that one is that the brown doesn't match up (especially on the legs), but again, either a running change will be made or it will be fixed from the getgo, according to Hasbro.

All things considered I'll wait for official pics of Henkei Cyclonus on Takara's website as I don't trust Hasbro not to say "screw it" and release it without any changes.
The mold is one of the best in the entire line but with that color scheme it looks like a 3rd rate knockoff and even if Takara decide to turn the chrome highlighting up to 11 I can't imagine it looking worse than the Universe version does.

How do you get his gun to stay on his arm?... It's hanging loose and I'll be damned if the directions helped me figure out how to connect it to his arm.

Actually Ironhide has different coloured windows [colours match in the henkei version], different colours on the arms and legs.

The photoshoped picture of cyclonus is fan made, stop trying to make it official.

Personally prefer the henkei versions [with few exceptions] because they're just more "lively" looking when coloured properly, not because of G1 goodness as some swear to.

Glad they did not make Ironhide black to make it more different from the henkei version. Finally a decent representation of Ironhide from the G1 cartoon.

No. I just always buy doubles of every TF I buy. I learned many years ago that it's always better to get a double at retail instead of waiting a few years and trying to replace the figure that somehow got broke, damaged, missing a part....you name it. It happened to me once and I had to pay about 25 X's retail to place the broken figure. I got TONS of doubles in my basement.
