Nice review.
I went to BB today to get one, but passed when I saw them.
Something about the eyes threw me off, so I picked up the loose Blu-Ray instead.

Good review but!!..the Akon at the end has to go man..:D

Would be cool to see this head on the Hasbro Leader Class but, i bet it would be way too big.

Thanks for the review. It looks pretty nice, but I'm still torn. Without the Sideshow gift card I wouldn't even consider the version with the bust, but with it, it's hard to know what to do. Compared to buying the normal special edition, you're basically paying $25 for the Prime bust and the $50 gift card. Well, that's if you get the regular edition at Amazon for $20 anyway.

Then there's the extra minute or two of IMAX footage on the Walmart version...

It's about 3 times too big, but maybe you could pass it off as the Sideshow version. I kid...

Dude, Buster Prime is only lacking the glossy red and shiny silver (it's a bit more normal silver now, but at least no molded grey). It's disappointing, but still a must get.

Exactly, and its also missing all the chrome. Before the fuel tanks and smokestacks, tool boxes and trailer guards where gonna be chrome, but now the dull silver is back.

Major fail.

Nope, screw it im gonna make my own. The gun and head sculpt isnt worth the sacrifice in paint quality. Maybe if it came with 2 guns like he should in the first place, but not only 1.

Hey mynnDAWG, who did those prime and megatron customs? AWESOME collection btw.

On the subject of customs, THIS is what buster prime SHOULD have looked like! (FR owned yet again, someone else proving he isnt the best thing since sliced ^^^^e)

(screw buster prime, im gonna paint mine to look like this! I'll post pics as i progress)

His Fallen is also alot better, and has that proper sheen to it like METAL ROBOTS SHOULD HAVE!!!

I think encline design's Fallen is much better than anyone else's.

Yeah his is nice but it lacks that metal-look that cregfigz' version has. Too many of these "high end" customizers, who i wotn name, give their toys a dull matte finish to the point that they look like theyve been painted in pastels, and look like candy. These are supposed to be METAL robots. Metal shines, simple as that, so the toys should shine.
People argue that you cant give a weathered and dirty look if you add gloss but thats BS cos you can.

but then again, it is all in personal taste. i like the matte finish so I put a matte finish on mine. Some may like gloss and thats cool too.

Yeah i suppose so. But the way i see it theres personal taste, and then theres just how things are supposed to look. IMO certain things arent up for artistic interpretation, they should just look right.

hey bro..i got my OP and Meg customed by a guy named Joekabuto...here's the link to his webpage...

https://www.joekabuto.com/

he has few stuff up the ebay...or else u can just email him to nego the prices...price in RM (malaysian money) which is roughly about RM3.5 = USD1...

Heh i wasnt planning on commissioning him, lord knows i can do 99.9% of this stuff myself (and better in most cases. OMG EGO!) i was just curious to see more of his work.

Well hello there.

Gorgeous. Can't wait. Is this thing still slated to not be released until a year from now? One of the transformers sites claimed Q2 2010, but that may have been in error.

I wouldnt get too excited about leader starscream yet. A lot can happen between now and what we actually get on the shelves. Im expecting major cut-backs and penny-pinching to happen, ala usual hasbro.
Im betting the paint will be a sea of grey, the transforming arm will get axed or at least overly simplified and the alt mode will take a hit for a cheaper and more simplified battery housing unit.
Not trying to be a kill-joy but this is what usually happens.
Just look at leader prime. Originally he was gonna have articulated fingers, collapsable wheels and a hinge on the tool boxes on his legs which took them out of sight, and a good paint job. That was all featured on an image exactly like this claiming to be "box art" for the production toy (i think you can still find it on the back of the boxes today) but none of those features made it onto the actual toy.
Time will tell i guess but im not holding my breath.

I just got wind of this news that Masterpiece Grimlock will indeed see release in the US sometime in 2010! This is according to the ActionFigureInsider's Hasbro Q&A Q3. What other masterpiece Transformers will be available in the US after the Skywarp Walmart Exclusive? A3. We are pleased to announce that the next Masterpiece item that we will be releasing will be Grimlock in 2010. I am so happy to hear this, I didn't want to pay $120 for this + SH.
