What can I say? This is my favorite Bumblebee to date. Very accurate to his on-screen persona, it's an amazing figure.

Prior to painting, I made some slight modifications to Bumblebee. I replaced the green LED in his head with a blue LED (not too easy) which required fully rewiring from the board. I also replaced his left hand with a fully articulated 4 digit hand, with wrist and 2pt. finger movement. Because his knees seemed to crap out on me (not too tight) I replaced the springs inside the ratcheting joint, ultimately making them tighter and holding him up better.

I removed the faux fingers/hand on his right hand/cannon, and installed a translucent red part which appears to "glow" when the LED (red) is triggered.

alclad (chrome effects)
house of colors silver & chrome
custom mix yellow/gold with pearl/iridescent finish

Blue LEDs are marginally more expensive than green, in fact blue LEDs are one of the most expensive color LEDs around. When hasbro (or any other toy company) mass produces toys like this, it saves them thousands to degrade to a green LED. We're talking fractions of a penny, but when multiplied by tens of thousands, it adds up and results in green.

Got a message from Kapowtoys today informing me that their delivery of FansProject Warbots have been delayed by the volcanic ash cloud that's messed up a lot of flights in Europe.

I think it'll be worth the wait though.

I disagree with that logic. Even if you still make $900 off of this figure that doesn't mean that it looks good, it just means that you have people, plenty of them, out there that will pay anything to have a Frenzy_Rumble custom. If you look at Hot Toys' Giger Alien you can see that it is highly inaccurate. Even though it is inaccurate people still buy the ____ out of it and Hot toys still makes a ____ ton of money off of their inaccurate figures.

I like how you gave his robot mode bits 'battle damage', while the carbits are still clean. That's a great visual effect. But the colors in the altmode don't match up. The door is darker then the rest of the car, and the right part of the front is lighter then the left one as well. You also didn't apply any paint to the underside of the roof, or the insides of other panels (like those on the hips).

Things like that just seem sloppy when compared to the extensiveness of the rest of the paintjob, especially because other customizers who operate on a similiar professional level don't make mistakes like that. And it's even worse since it's a given that you will sell this for over $500, maybe even $700. For that kind of money, oversights like that shouldn't happen.

you're right. It was something quick I replied with when I read the unsurprising negative remarks. I've posted this custom on several other boards, and I haven't seen any negative comments like this guys, until I got here. There's a reason people "will pay anything to have a Frenzy_Rumble custom" - it's not accident.

Anyone who missed out on the first release of Henkei Prime will get another chance soon as it's going to be rereleased.

Hopefully the Vibrant Red Alternity Convoy will be the next Prime to get the rerelease treatment as it's going for silly money on ebay at present.

These posts make me happy.

I am SO glad to see people FINALLY waking up and opening their eyes and realizing FR is one of the most overrated and boring customizers out there.

Even without the amount of trouble and harrassment he has caused me, he'd still be an average customizer at best.

And the whole attitude he has about how he's apparently a god because he earns a ton of money just proves once again the kind of ego-driven, self absorbed, disrespectful and undeserving person he really is.

That whole arguement is moot anyway. Look at how crappy spiderman 3 was, that still made a ton of money.
Just because something earns a lot, that isnt a sign of quality.
Look at Mercedes cars for example. Alot have TERRIBLE build quality, but they still cost a fortune to buy.
