Haha, ok. Well another guy is hoping to have the money in 2-3 weeks, and i told him that if i had not sold them by that time they'd be his. If you can scrape together the money before him, they're yours man. They need to go to a good home where they can be put out on display again! :yess:

The race is on! :lol

Glad you like them! :)

I think if G1 accuracy is what you look for most then there's no question that Masterpiece Hot Rod/Rodimus is the one to go for but I also think that dismissing Protector or indeed any 3rd party product on that basis or because of their cost is unfair.

As with the official Classics lines the 3rd party companies are offering items that are easily recognisable as the same old G1 characters but that have a slightly different aesthetic which sometimes doesn't work but for the most part it does.

3rd party prices do suck but I usually raise most of the cash for them from recycling unwanted items eg I traded MP Skywarp,Hybrid Prime and Alternity Megatron with Kapow Toys for Protector & Sidearm and am doing the same with Henkei Megatron for United Tracks so it doesn't work out too badly......I'm hardly made of money so I've had to learn to be resourceful with managing my various collections.

I missed out on Ravage as something else took priority at the time but it's still an item I'd like to get...it just seems to be hard to come by these days so I'll either wait and see if there's a rerelease or get one of the KO's.

Congrats on the bonus!

I'm hoping United Scourge has a cartoon based color scheme to go with Henkei Cyclonus but I do like the Hasbro version as well.

I am a big fan of Ravage (comic Ravage, who was a great character unlike cartoon Ravage :slap) and IMO it's his best representation in toy form. Great posability and attitude. If you get a KO be careful as some of them seem to have messed the proportions up somehow :huh

I need at least two Scourge's and am hoping the colour scheme on United is a little different. Tak white plastic is always better though and that was what made my mind up. The more I've seen of this fig the more I like him. Just wish he didn't look like such a midget next to Cyclonus..........

I thought I was happy with my Hasbro WFC Prime, but now I'm not so sure.................

NICE !!!!!!!!!! :)

I (sensibly so) base how good something is on how it looks and how much it costs.
You wouldnt pay £100 for a legends sized third party toy of g1 Bumblebee would you, so why should i change the way i think about things?

It's all relative though mate. For many people spending £10 or £20 on a small plastic robot is a complete waste of money full stop. Does that mean it is for you? No. It's the same with 3rd party stuff for me and many others.
Everyone has their own view on what something is worth, and for me the thid party companies are offering something that is missing or not good enough (in my opinion) from official releases. I have ordered the New Kup head to go with my Kup fig because I hated the official release as it looked to constipated/evil for my liking.

Different strokes for different folks, but IMO more options for the fans to make their ideal collection is always good.

And thats all perfectly fine, the trick is to learn to live in a world where different people like different things, unlike some who cant seem to take it whenever somebody has a different view to theirs and would rather throw away a good friendship then act mature and grown up about something...then again we are kids toys collectors so maybe thats too much to ask? :huh

And some of us are American! :cuckoo:

WOW.. ok, Frakking Bought. Just got the protector trailer and shadow commander yesterday, But then, I like Good ol Roddy. Never can has too many.

I'd like to see him posed with Grimlock, see how he measures up against him, but It's probobly fine If i keep him as Hot Rod.

It all depends what you're looking for in a "masterpiece."
Some people like MP Prime's weight as a measure of quality. Others find it annoyingly clunky.

Yeah, MP prime is neet, but he's TOO big, and too clunky. His Diecast top, and plastic legs makes him kinda top-heavy. not to mention, he keeps becoming shorter as his legs collapse under the weight.

No. for me, Igears is superior. ESP with the tooned up head.

I have to agree with that. If you only had 1 MP, then MP Convoy is the one to own hands down. But if you collect the others, the iGear version is great since he looks better displayed with them. And this is coming from someone who never really cares about scales. I had MP-01 displayed with Grimlock forever, but decided to get the iGear version just because I thought they complemented each other even better. And having Rodimus and an iGear Ultra Magnus will make this even that much more amazing to display:panic:

Bob,
The dodgy proportions of the KO's of Device Label Ravage I've seen on ebay have been what's prevented me from pulling the trigger so far and one other option I'm considering is to get the official Tigatron version and repaint it in Ravage colors and add some G1 missiles.

I have the Ravage that came with Henkei Hound for the time being but it stands out a bit in my Decepticon lineup and for the wrong reason.....it sucks! :lol

As you say the 3rd party companies are offering other options and are making things that will never get an official release and I think that's a good thing.

Verbal21, lerath666,
I also think Faith Leader is the real Masterpiece and I'm in for an intresting dilemma if iGear's Ultra Magnus armor/trailer doesn't suck as I'll have to decide whether I'll keep City Commander as my Classics version or change to the iGear version.

Faith Leader is my Classics Prime so I'd probably go with the iGear one but I wouldn't get rid of City Commander as it's still one of my favorite pieces.

Hope we see some pics of the iGear armor/trailer soon.

in rodimus mode I anticipate him being taller. But in Hotrod mode, I think he'll be fine. I might be wrong, but he might actualy be the same size as Minime prime.

besides, as far as 3rd party goes. IF hastak REALLY wanted to, they could go after the 3rd party companies, buy, or outright Sieze their molds, and mass produce them as official toys.

short version. I don't think Hasbro Cares. And if they don't, then why should I?

I imagine that hasbro cares but going after these companies would be more trouble than it's worth. Especially since most of these companies operate outside of the US and their main target group (kids) dont buy them. I do remember one of the hasbro execs making a threatening coment after fansproject had such a presence at one of the cons (including the con exclusive). Hasbro probably doesn't want to make too much of a fuss as long as these 3rd party companies don't attract too much attention.

So, today i picked up a MISB KO Springer which is amazing quality BTW, and a 02 reissue Ultra Magnus(loose complete in perfect condition for $40).

The Ultra Magnus i had as a kid was the second run version which had a all blue helmet, plastic wheels, plastic feet on the cab, not as great as this one which is based off the first run. Springer i changed his sticker placement on the abdomen to cover the screws up and also stuck some light blue paper in Magnus's head which came from a tag off a few new pillows i bought...annnd grabbed a dremel and cut the shoulder missles down to the right size.
