Hope it's true!
Encore Devastator is now up for PO at BBTS!
I think what's slightly offputting with the first one is that his front pincers become wrist mounted blades in robot mode instead of sticking out over each shoulder like the G1 toy so he looks a bit different from the familiar outline we're used to seeing.
Upon closer inspection it appears that his rear insect legs recreate that and the wrist blades look like they may slide over those so it should be possible to have the traditional Shrapnel look

Anyone knows hen this model kit will be released?
See revoltech Optimus Prime and Megatron.i would like to see the G1 transformers done like this , with lots of articulation like the gundams
I remember seeing a pic that showed that they can indeed be put in their proper place, but I don't have it saved, or remember where I saw it. I'll look around though, maybe I can find it again.
EDIT: HYMN, it should come out sometime in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
And new pics of not Scavenger:

I'm really underwhelmed by it. It was off putting enough that he doesn't really look like the original toy nor the cartoon character, but what kills it for me is the paintjob. For $100, it should really be a lot better. And why the hell does he have parts that are more blue then purple, while the test shot does have the right colors? And why are the legs completely black? I can understand not wanting to make the threads purple, but they could at least slap some color on there to break up the black and make it a bit more reminiscent of the G1 version.
I don't know, I still like it.
Is it really that different than the G1 version(s)? Looks good enough for me.
Though I have made up my mind that I will be getting these, I think the biggest draw back in this "Devastator" is the shear cost for each figure. $100 for each figure is a lot of money by any stretch of the imagination. I'm just hopping that each figure at least comes with a piece that will make devastator (forearm, hand, head, or thighs). If they make it so that these other pieces have to be purchased separately at the end of the figure releases then we know for sure $100 price tag is way too much!
Just got this today:
Love the IDW reboot and definatly going on the hunt now for Prime and Megatron, but I guess I´m gonna get me the new MP-10 Prime...
I think it's a case of "3rd party hater's disease" striking again
For me TFC Scavenger being unlike the G1 toy is a damn good thing as the original Constructicons were ugly little brickformers with a combined mode that was pathetic.
TFC's Constructicons are all around Deluxe scale, have great poseability and have more than enough design cues taken from various G1 based sources to be easily recognisable but because they're not official products they get subjected to ridiculous amounts of scrutiny whilst Hasbro get an easy ride even though their cheapness seems to know no limits.
Says the guy who rants on 10 dollar figures for not resembling the original characters enough and having too few paint appsl
here is my custom Sentinel Prime..
