How do you think the trailer would look with a ROTF leader class Prime?

When I got home I read some reviews that the trailer is too big and with a little custom with the tow hitch on the trailer it looks good on the LC Optimus Prime. I myself don't like that fairy/butterfly look but wanted a Prime with a trailer. I paid $67 for it and I would imagine if a third party made a trailer it would cost more than $67 so I just went ahead and purchased it.

Thats basically what I'm wanting as well is a Prime with a trailer. I have the Jetwing Prime so, I'd basically be buying it for just the trailer.

Jetwing Prime is really impressive, the flight gear is just amazing looking. The retooling on Prime himself is pretty decent as well. I know BBTS has it, but I'm not sure about the price since they raised it after they got it in stock. The wait for the reveal of the DA-28 seems like it is taking forever.

Yeah, I kind of bought BB on a whim, fully expecting a nice G1 version from iGear at some point.

I'm glad I got him though, since they announced that 3rd party upgrade set.

Have you seen the Renderform upgrades for the various versions of the Classics Bumblebee mold?

They're doing,

Hubcap headsculpt & weapon for the RTS version
Bumper headsculpt & weapon for the Henkei version
Goldbug headsculpt & weapon for the United version

Someone at TFW is doing some custom upgrade kits to make the FP Insecticons look a bit more G1 as well.

I like what FP have done in adding their own spin to the original designs but a bit of extra G1 authenticity is never a bad thing and the mocked up add ons for Shrapnel make it look perfect.

Can I see a link to the FP insecticons upgrades bcm?

Sure,

The Shrapnel mod has been done using actual G1 parts and the kits will be cast from that so they won't be chromed but a drop of Tamiya chrome silver should look good enough.

Not sure what they've planned for Bombshell & Kickback but in all honesty Shrapnel was the only one where I wasn't 100% happy with FP's design so I may only get the upgrade for that one.

Wow, impressive! Really finishes the figure nicely.

I think I'll wait on these though. If iGear's plans get solidly underway I'm sure they'll put out some real G1 looking Insecticons.

It's mainly 3rd Party overload though - if I'm going to get Ratchet and Ironhide, the two minibots, and the Hercules figures I have to pass on other stuff... :(

Ha, not to mention those damn Sideshow Joes... Already cancelled the Desert Sniper because there's just too much cool stuff coming out too soon...

People kept complaining about the Joes not being released fast enough, but I'm with you guys. I simply can't afford to pick up all the Joes, plus the 3rd party TFs, plus my main focuses of Hot Toys figures, Sideshow statues, and Minimates. Something's gotta give, and I've got to pick and choose with each of those lines.

you can flexpay him now if you order stalker.

as for the joes in general. People keep going "more more more"

but never buy them all.

Glad sideshow finally got smart about it.

they're apparently going to drop back star wars, joes, and the pending DC figures to 5 a year when it comes to 1/6th to allow people who collect all 3 lines the ability to actually buy them, as well as giving themselves more time for QC.

Really, REALLY happy about that.

Prioritising is always tricky although currently it's not too bad for me,

Transformers = No intrest in DOTM or Prime stuff.

Character Options Classic Doctor Who figures = The quality is declining and as a result I'm reluctant to buy any more.

Mattel WWE Legends figures = I have most of what I want for the moment.

So 3rd party TF's are top priority and so far I've got the following pre-ordered & paid for,

TFC Scavenger & Long Haul
FP Insecticons
iGear Ironhide, Ratchet, Huffer & Seaspray

Subject to ebay auctions finishing favorably I also expect to have at least 1 of the iGear Coneheads soon as well.

Thanks, ya I that he is available again but funds are low with much more priority over him.

As for the SS DC license, are they also doing 1/6 figures too? Or just statues?

the press release says 1/6th figures as well.

and at the afterparty, a sideshow vip let slip that part of the reason for slowing down the number of star wars and gi joe releases each year was to make way for the dc 1/6th figures, for so people who wanted to collect all 3 would be more likely to afford it.

Here's a link to that news

for those to lazy to click

With the DC license being awarded to Sideshow and the intent to put out 1/6 scale DC figures we might be seeing a decrease in the number of G.I. Joe figures released to possibly 1 every quarter. With Star Wars, G.I. Joe and now DC entering the 1/6 world they want collectors that want to buy from all three lines to be able to afford to do so without having to choose between one or the other. They recognize that these are expensive figures and want to do what they can to help collectors get everything they want. As someone who has seen 3 G.I. Joe figures (Stalker, Dusty and Ninja Viper) as well as 2 Star Wars releases come out in the last 4-6 weeks I can completely understand this logic. While I’d like to see them release as many G.I. Joe figures as possible I also understand that some restraint is necessary to keep the line healthy and continue to perform well and perform well it has.

Yep, that's exactly what I mean.

The Sideshow GI Joe stuff and third-party TFs are really getting out of hand, in particular.

I still plan on getting all the 12" Joes at some point (I can probably pick up the Desert Sniper cheaper down the road), but no way can I also get the environments, dios, PFs and statues. It's just too much too soon.

I still plan on getting the rest of the Herc bots, Ironhide, Ratchet, the minibots and pretty much anything from the first season of G1 iGear puts out. I'll probably have to pass on the iGear Coneheads, though maybe I can pick them up a bit later...

I wasn't going to bother with the Coneheads but decided if I'm going for the best possible scale across my main collection the Deluxe ones wouldn't cut it any more.

The rumor about iGear doing their own Starscream, Skywarp & Thundercracker played a part in my decision too although if the rumor about MP-11 being a new Starscream is legit I'll inevitably get that plus the inevitable Skywarp & Thundercracker.

For me it's just space/money. I would probably get Thundercracker if they made one, or get the Takara version if it drops in price because of it. But in the end, I still don't have a proper Megatron, Soundwave or Shockwave - until those are made, do I really just want six Seekers? (And my PE Reflector, forgot about him/them.)
