My one complaint about these new Constructicons is that, well, they look like cheap Hasbro toys from a production perspective. I guess we shouldn't expect more than that for various reasons, but at $100 it would be nice if they looked like they would run more than $15-20 if it was mass produced and sold at Wal-Mart.

Glad im not the only one who sees this. Utter waste of money if you ask me, i really dont understand the appeal and for those insane prices they should have custom-quality paint apps,or at the very least Takara quality ones. Its funny to see all the anti Hasbro snobs justify these over priced, what looks like a cheap KO rip-off's.

A Transformers painting I did for a friend...it was 8' x 4' and every bit the pain in the butt to work on you could imagine.

Thats amazing man well done!

Well, when I say that they look like production quality Hasbro toys I'm not saying they look like dollar store KOs. Make no mistake--I'm all about the 3rd party stuff (and will likely buy each of these Constructicons) because, as I said before, I think they're giving a certain fan-base (self included) stuff that Hasbro/Takara is unwilling to. They are expensive, yes. Even over-priced for what they are, putting aside the fact that they must cost much more for these companies to produce and might even bring in less revenue than a typical Hasbro figure does. But this is the closest thing we may get to a BIG, G1-like Devastator that looks sort of like he looks in the cartoon/comics and transforms into smaller robots and vehicles that similarly look like they did in those other media. As such, you choose to deal with their flaws, you choose nothing, or you choose this hideous abomination:

I'm leaning toward the first option:

But yeah, I'm not gonna argue that these are perfect.

Yeah, the TFC Constructicons are cool, but the ae___etics are off. They look more like Cybertron toys then Classics toys. But at least Devastator should be worth it.

New pics of some iGear products, just photoshops to give people an idea what the final product will look like:

I hope they add some white on Ratchet's abdomen. The break between white and red is a bit too abrupt here. White on bits of the abdomen (like in the attached pic) should improve the look, as well as make it more G1 cartoon accurate.

I'm more concerned with him having an all-white face. Looks a bit freaky. Should be silver or at least gray.

And I agree about Devastator looking a bit off, but I've got faith that once he's painted up and, ideally, has the giant purple chevron on his chest, all reservations will be. . .tranquilized.

In general I think the overall 2-tone approach is wrong, and hope we can chalk it up to lazy photoshopping. He definitely needs more gray with the white and red IMO. But then, the heads on the custom seeker I saw (I think it was Ramjet?) looked FUGLY. So I wouldn't put it past Igear to do something really awesome and complex, but then to overlook something simple but critically important.

At least you have a sensible view on things, and arent of the "i must only buy third party stuff now because hasbro is teh suxxorz and i like being an elitist" mindset, and has to bash every-single-release hasbro or takara ever make. People like that dont like Transformers and have no respect for the fandom or the brand.

people who take TOYS that seriously are tools anyway.

Indeed.

My mentality to colllecting is this,

I buy what I like, whether it is 3rd party or official. What others think of that is irrelevant.

Right now the 3rd party guys are what's floating my boat so that's what I'm gonna buy, but I never say never so if Has/Tak can come up with some good stuff that's not related to Bayformers or the Prime cartoon then I'll consider buying it.

I would be as giddy as a school girl if I could get the equivalent of TFClub's Devastator for, say, $120 from Hasbro over $600 from some 3rd party company. In general, I'm not a fan of companies. I'm a fan of products. And whoever gives me the best product is who I'll like best at a given time.

Exactly, my loyalty is to whoever makes what I want to collect at a particular time, it's never been about scoring points in a pissing contest between fans.

If there were DECENT official alternatives to Warbot Defender, iGear Ironhide & Ratchet etc etc I'd buy 'em but they're either not in existence or have updates that for me aren't good enough, it's always about personal preference.

Take Impactor for example, iGear are making the first ever figure of him and the signs are he'll look like he's stepped straight out of the pages of Last Stand of the Wreckers which providing the QC is good enough makes it a must have.

Has/Tak wouldn't consider him important enough a character to get his own mold and he'd end up as a repaint of a mold made for another character with only a passing resemblance to the source material.

TFC have announced that the first images of Bonecrusher & Mixmaster will be released on August 21st.

So all the idiots saying they wouldn't be made can finally STFU :lol

It won't shut anybody up. They'll just switch to "I'll believe it when I see it LOL" nonsense. And when one gets delayed it'll be Chicken Little time.

You can always count on internet negativity to find a way!

Sadly you're probably right, there's no way I'll let anybody affect my excitement for the stuff I'm into though so anyone who drags up the same tired BS will simply be ignored.

I wouldn't say that. Who ever thought we'd get original molds for guys like Drift, Straxus and Thunderwing?

I still look forward to buying him and any other Wreckers that iGear come out with though, as long as they have a somewhat reasonable pricetag. :lol

Fantastic news :hi5: I was never in doubt they were being made, but I can't wait to see the pics, especially of Mixmaster, he has always been my fave Constructicon. Hopefully we will get confirmation of the chest wing too

Good point. I'm still hoping IGear will attempt Rack 'n' Ruin. I want the original Wreakers.

Drift & Straxus are OK and the general design of Thunderwing isn't bad but after reading "Stormbringer" it just seems puny....maybe someone can upscale the mold to Leader Class like with WFC Prime.

Bob,
It appears as if the Last Stand of the Wreckers main cast will be first but I'd also be down for Rack 'N Ruin as their design is so unique.

Whirl & Roadbuster wouldn't go amiss either although I'm probably going to get this to use as Roadbuster, ( the one on the left )

I'd also like a decent Topspin & Twin Twist and Broadside although his aircraft carrier mode would need reworking into some kind of smaller boat as the scale wouldn't really work unless he was as big as the USS Flagg from the old GI JOE line :lol
