I would say yes. I can't see a third party headsculpt selling for much less.

BBTS will probably be more expensive, though!

I should really think about putting together another RK preorder... I know I need this, the TFC-007 Hercules upgrade set, and a couple other things... I just wish we'd see some pics of Takara's Breakdown and Knockout already, though maybe I'm just being foolish at this point, thinking Takara's versions might be better, lol.

Just sold a couple of Beast Wars figures & have a lovely £66 (about $100) sat in my Paypal account & I'm fancying something 3rd party to help break up the Hot Toys addiction that's currently consumming my life lol

But what do I get???

Should I pre-order some iGear stuff like Iron Hide or Ratchet or Brawn?

Should I get Cartoon Acurrate Thundercracker to replace my Takara MP one on display?

Or should I jump into Fansproject & get my first one of their figures like an Insecticon or Flameblast & Warcry? (Could get both of them for £10 over my current Paypal Balance )

I have looked at the TFC Devastator stuff & as much as I like it I can't afford to build the full Devestator so they aren't really in consideration

So anyway if you had the cash what would you buy??

If you could afford Devastator, I would go for that. I just picked up the Fansproject Insecticons. They are nice, but the quality of plastic seems to be a step down from previous FP releases. I would have been more upset, but I was able to score them during BBTS Third Party sale. Thundercracker is nice too. I also have Warcry and really like the figure. Just my two cents . . . hope that helps a little.

Tricky choice!

iGear Thundercracker is VERY nice and just needs some Decepticon logos to feel "complete". Mine had a wobbly head straight from the package but I did the superglue trick with the ball joint and it's fine now.

Ironhide, Ratchet, Brawn, Cosmos ( & Gears ) all look great but until in hand reports show up there's always a chance something may turn out badly so they're more of a gamble....based on the other iGear stuff I own I'm confident they'll deliver with all of them.

FP's Insecticons are all great although they'll need the upgrade sets that some dudes at TFW are developing to make them look more like the originals....not sure how much each kit is going to be.

So I would say Thundercracker would be your best bet right now, but don't rule out some of the others if you have the cash at a later date.

Nice review and congrats on the new arrivals!

Arcee is well worth the money and better than waiting for on official Classics version which will probably turn into a blue motorbike anyway.

Whilst reorganising my collection over the weekend it's become apparent my display is badly lacking the following characters,

Megatron
Shockwave
Blaster

Fans Toys have made a prototype for Blaster so it'll probably follow Soundwave and they also hinted at Shockwave being their 3rd figure so those two are going to happen eventually.

The new 3rd party Megatron looks nice but will be too small to go with Faith Leader so it looks like I'll be waiting for iGear to revisit their Horror Monarch project....which may be some time with all they've got going on.

I'm going to wait on a Takara Skywarp, but yeah, pretty much this. What's up with no Megatron? Though there have been hints of a new Takara MP... if he's about same size as MP-10, that'll still work with Faith Leader, imo.

Very tempted by Thundercracker just to have an almost G1 accurate seeker display
Just wish the Coneheads weren't so dear otherwise I'd have jumped on one of them in a heartbeat.

I keep looking at Ratchet & Ironhide & I just wish they did some colour prototype shots so I could get an idea on the final look.

Bit of a shame to hear the Insecticons are a bit plasticky.
Is there any news yet on the upgrade sets??
If they are imminent & not too expensive that may sway things...although they still look pretty sweet anyway

I'm really curious to see how they look in hand.

I would love to get the Devestator but I can't justify the cost...if they were half the price per figure then no issues at all but at $100(ish) a piece it's just too much

The last thing I read on the price of the Insecticon upgrades said they were trying to keep the cost to around $30 per Insecticon.

I'm not sure when they're due as there was a delay due to problems with the molding process and the guys making them wanted to make sure the end product turned out great.

I had Henkei Megatron for a while but scale wise it doesn't work with Faith Leader and I sold it once I'd heard about Horror Monarch.

The only other Megatron I own is the Animated Leader Class which is OK but obviously doesn't fit with my main display which is made of CHUG & 3rd party G1 characters.

If a new Masterpiece version that's scaled to MP-10 happens I'll take a look at it as I don't mind Megatron being a bit taller than Prime ( Faith Leader is a bit smaller than MP-10 ).

Whilst in my local comic shop today I had a look through the hardcover edition of "Last Stand of the Wreckers" and will be buying it from Amazon as it's about £8 cheaper

I'm not a hardcore comic fan but I think LSOTW is awesome and although it wouldn't have been a mainstream commercial success I think a movie based on it would have been way better than 3 ( soon to be 4 ) different installments of "Optimus & Bumblebee's Big Adventure".
