Yeah, he falls somewhere between a classics deluxe and voyager, which suits his character I think. I didn't go back and watch episodes or anything, but he strikes me as kind of a big guy.

I'm not sure if he's got THAT much diecast, but he definitely feels heavier than most contemporary TFs.

I did a quick review recently as well and have pretty much nothing but praise for him: https://www.collecting-toys.blogspot.ca/2012/03/fansproject-warbot-defender-review.html

I've got the Hercules robots (only missing Exgraver, which is tied up in another preorder that came later than expected!), the FP Insecticons, the iGear Conehead Seekers, iGear's Faith Leader, and Perfect Effect Reflector... Also have Delicate Warrior (G1 Arcee) on the way.

I'd recommend any/all of those. I think most of the third party stuff is G1 oriented.

darkknight,

Aside from Impactor iGear showed pics of headsculpts for Pyro, Guzzle, Ironfist and Rotorstom a while back but nothing else has been heard for a while as iGear show off so much stuff they inevitably have trouble juggling their production schedule as they haven't got the resources to have a lot of items being made at any one time.

I think you'll like Warbot, just be a bit careful when transforming the arms for the APC mode as it's quite fiddly the first couple of times round.

I would recommend the following 3rd party products,

iGear = Faith Leader, all the Seekers & Coneheads, Arcee, the Minibots, the Kup heads and the weapons for Kup & Perceptor.

FansProject = City Commander, Protector, Warbot, the Insecticons

TFC = Constructicons/Devastator
( Not cheap but it's the best combiner ever made. Wish my last 2 Constructicons would show up so I can complete the damn thing. )

PerfectEffect = Rumble & Frenzy, Reflector, Rewind & Eject

Others to watch out for are,

MasterMind Collectibles Sixshot
Fans Toys Soundwave with Laserbeak
iGear Impactor, Bumblebee & Cliffjumper

Oh yeah, forgot about the iGear minibots and Kup head set. Very nice.

I can't wait for the FT Soundwave - probably my most wanted MP ever! :)

For the record Warbot aka NOT Springer is bigger than a deluxe. Probably closer to the modern day Voyager.

:hi5: Thanks for all your input, I'm real tempted to get that Ejector/Rewinder set, BBTS has 1 more left :panic: Maybe not please someone just buy it :lol

I'm looking forward to the FT Soundwave if Has/Tak doesn't make a MP.

One more thing, I read on TFW2005 that Warbot knees gets loose everytime you move it, is that true? The gears gets worn down or something like that.

Update: Just purchased the W-01 Upgrade Kit. Now I need the Kup heads set

Nice review Dylan! :rock I'll be gunning for MP-11 at BotCon for sure.

Here is my custom RID Cliffjumper, I just added some details to this figure. He gets a lot of hate but I dig him!

Down to 30 Fansproject Warbots.

Damn, I'm now regretting passing on the Fansproject Ultra Magnus armor when they re released it. Hope I don't feel the same when the sale is over or sold out of the insecticons.

jin satome ( custom toy maker) has just made himself the most hated person in transformers fandom . He's been leading a crussade against 3rd party transformers for a while. He sucseeded in getting them banned from Botcon.

and today, this happend
>We have received word that artists that booked an artist alley table for BotCon 2012 are now being told that any fan art that may infrige on Hasbro's intellectual property or trademarks can not be sold at BotCon.

Those of you who make and sell custom figures on E-bay, BE CAREFUL, If they're going after artists now, toy customizeres are probably next.

That man is a grade A arsehole!!!!

That utterly sucks...there is some amazing piece's out there & if this carries on we will lose something that make the universe so awesome to be involved in.

B*&^7ARD!!!!!!!!

Neil

Somehow I don't think that would cut much ice with Has/Tak's legal department if they do drop the hammer on customisers.

Whilst it would be amusing to see arseholes like Jin and a couple of the other customisers with oversized egos get brought down I would feel for the nicer guys in the community if their ability to share their art was restricted as the majority of them are decent enough and don't act like they're above everyone else.

Some kind of response to 3rd party toys was inevitable after last year's Botcon when they blew away what official offerings were shown but I wonder where the line will ultimately be drawn....will they even put a stop to Reprolabels even though most of their stuff is for official products?

I think it's a shame that such a great event for fans from all areas of the TF community will eventually be reduced to a bland, corporate friendly affair where the official company line will be espoused at all times....and all because of the actions of a few white knights on an ego trip.

I guess he doesn't understande trademarks and character properties. :cuckoo:

What a damn fool

I hope, Capcom, Hasbro, Mattel, DC, Marvel and every other company he infringed on destroy him

Please, allow me.

I'm sorry members here felt the need to jump in with uncivilized commentary. But there's trolls in ever forum and sometimes they need to be addressed. The mere fact some people support the mass production of licensed characters by another company makes me shake my head at the fandom. Let me break it down for everyone how I stand on 3rd party products. I divide them into three classes.

Light: Add-on kits. Like the City Commander armor and iGear's Kup heads, these kits require the purchase of an original Hasbro character. Sometimes this creates an additional sale of a character or renewed interest in a line.

Gray: Standalone characters. Toys like Hercules, Rager, Medic, who are original sculpts by another company but rely on the intellectual property of another company because they mimic a licensed character. Hasbro isn't hurt directly and sometimes this can fill the gap between lines.

Dark: Direct mold knockoffs or recasts. Masterpiece Seekers, shrunken Faith Commanders, KO Toys. These were all Hasbro molds at one point, designers hard work and love created these. But Then then someone just took the originals apart and made molds to pump out the same figure for themselves. No design work was done except for perhaps a new head and wings.

Reprolabels is somewhere in there too. They profit from hasbro's IP, they're mass-produced, but they usually require an original Hasbro toy to make them useful.

Wow, yeah. Looks really good in these pics!

Yeah, Botcon would be a good place to pick up MP-11, I imagine. Shipping brought the price up considerably, but oh well. Still worth it!

Nice, so you got it?

I wouldn't bother picking up the FP armor. I'm sure we'll get a proper G1 style UM eventually. The Classics one is just too small and too stylized, imo. I would rather see iGear do one... or Takara, for that matter.

^yeah I got it that day after everyone's feedback :rock glad I did and knew about it because it sold out now.

Thanks, hope we get a UM from igear soon.

I don't think this second run would have lasted long even without BBTS' sale, so you probably made the right choice!

I've got Delicate Warrior on the way as well, same reason. :)

This is my first 3rd party TF figure, I've only bought accessories in the past. I love Springers design but not the G1 toy, but was hesitate to purchase Warbot for $100+

Nice score on the Delicate Warrior, how much was she before she sold out?

some more followup from the botcon fallout mess by the man who is responsible for it.

in this thread he calls people nazi, and says Chinese factory workers are apparently less human than Americans.

just thought i'd share what turned out to be an entertaining read.

Yeah, it was fun whilst it lasted :lol

Not only is he a toy painter with delusions of grandeur, he's also a racist hypocrite....it would be highly amusing if his sucking up to Hasbro backfires :lol

You're welcome. the guy's got some talent at customizing, but he seems not to be too bright.

I'm beginning to wonder if 4chan's campaign to destroy him and his credibility are even necessary.

I think he destroyed his own credibility. I can't understand why he doesn't se his faulty arguement. since he is doing exactly the same thing on a samller scale. My favorite line was when he said his goal with his customs was to inspire others to buy the original figures.

I can't remember what I got her for... Just over a hundred shipped? (When I say just, it might have been twenty bucks or so.)

She's not completely sold out or anything. But I did notice the amount of ones for sale had decreased between the time I was checking out options and when I actually BINed one a coupe weeks later.

I saw her on igears web site still for sale. Thinking of ordering the new PP01 Faith Leader and Kup head set.

DMK01 Prime is up for PO at BBTS if anyone cares, whopping $175
