Received my MP Soundwave today. And i must say that this does indeed have paint issues.Mine has small paint chips and scratches on the yellow part and around the chest panel.

A very small crack on his mouth shield too but its's pretty small so i can live with it.

Hmmm...kind of suspected that this yellow chest rim might have some issues. Isn't that just dark clear plastic like the rest of the opening chest. Probably best not to try that energon cube gimmick too often, because isn't that a piece that you connect to the yellow rim.

Goddamn that thing is huge.

I got my MP Soundwave last night. I didnt have time to really mess with it, but Im gonna have to open him tonight so I can do some QC on him.

I wont try the energon cube either now that i know the damage it can cause. The Energon cube is a damn nice accessory with this figure though.

I hope these issues gets solved for the upcoming figures, shame this had to happen with Soundwave.

So there are a lot of scratch issues and plastic issues with this guy so far? :(

I saw Sean Long's review for MP-13 and I noticed that the right arm bicep area either wasn't glued together properly or was coming apart.

I had the same problem on the left bicep so I just unscrewed it and did some minor sanding around the post and the top of the bicep. Now all is well in the world. :)

So it's a relatively easy fix? Sucks that a $200 figure has to get modded like that out of the box. Glad you were able to sort it out though.

Alright so after receiving two MP Soundwave duds (ankle pieces),I got a response from RK. Apparently Im gonna be mailed the faulty pieces whenever they become avaliable and have to install em myself.:mad. Ive never done this type of **** before and I hope its easy. This is BS but Ill try because everything else on my Soundwaves looks good. Anyone know what type of tools Ill need to purchase? Also the pic below shows how straight my SW's can stand. The misaligned piece in the foot is acting like a spring, pushing the leg away from the foot. Looks like he just got electrocuted.

Wow that's pretty bad Fury :(
Can't believe the service from RK that's pretty poor that they expect you to fix the problem yourself.

I had been considering using them for my Prowl pre-order as Kapow in the UK have sold out of their allocation but based on that I think I'll look elsewhere in case I have any problems.

Hope you get something sorted soon.

Neil

For those who have Soundwave in hand, can you help me out with something?
Check the pic below, his left side of the mouthshield looks to have a little damage.Mine have this, and this pic is not even mine, and it has the same thing.Checked multiple pics and youtube videos and it looks to be a common thing with this.
Any help would be appreciated :D

Not sure I showed this or not. Made this years ago. I apologize if I showed it already.

edstuff, that's cool, but what is it? Scraplet? :)

Yep I'm definitely on the look out for an MP10 now.
As I mentioned before I managed to break my Faith Leader so really could do with an MP10 so I don't break him anymore :(

Yeah, I'm very careful with my Faith Leader.

I think I'll still end up keeping him, though. He just looks too good with MP Grimlock. Maybe I'll have them off in a Detolf with the rest of the Autobots with MP-10, if/when I get him.

I can probably trade for him - I'm trying to unload a lot of stuff right now, just gotta find the right guy to deal with! :)

I'm still hoping we see him in the UK but the longer we are waiting the less likely that is ever going to happen so I may have to bite the bullet & pay Ebay prices :(

Per Ebay it seems that Takaras MP10 seems to go for US$30-50 more than Hasbros. Im not sure if Takaras is worth that much more but I will say the Hasbro version is excellent. If I had to choose Id go Hasbro mainly because of the more cartoony colors and painted eyes, screams more cartoon which is what Im looking for. Its just as good quality wise as Takaras so I cant justify the markup. Either way you will be happy with him!

Isn't Takara's closer to the actual MSRP though? That must count for something.

I'll have to look at both again, but usually I prefer Takara decos...

Someone asked about a shot of MP-9, MP-10, and MP-12 is vehicle mode. Here's one I took, but no trailers.

They look pretty sweet lined up like that.

Do think Hot Rod is looking a little too big compared to the others though.

Neil

Yup, me too. He's good as Rodimus, but we need a smaller version for Hot Rod.

Not before the rest of the '84 and '85 cars, of course (thought I'm sure he will be).

Yeah, it's just a little mark from where that part was connected to the plastic "tree" - every single one I've seen has it, including mine. No biggie.

If I wanted to be really OC about MP Soundwave, I could find some "flaws", but mine was pretty good. I only transformed him once, didn't see any scratches or anything, except for some very light, barely noticeable ones on the clear plastic cassette door. Doesn't bother me. These things happen with mass produced pieces, even ones that cost $200 (I think I paid $150, or maybe $160?).
