Alright so after receiving two MP Soundwave duds (ankle pieces),I got a response from RK. Apparently Im gonna be mailed the faulty pieces whenever they become avaliable and have to install em myself.:mad. Ive never done this type of **** before and I hope its easy. This is BS but Ill try because everything else on my Soundwaves looks good. Anyone know what type of tools Ill need to purchase? Also the pic below shows how straight my SW's can stand. The misaligned piece in the foot is acting like a spring, pushing the leg away from the foot. Looks like he just got electrocuted.

All you will need is a phillips screwdriver. It's hard to say what you will need to do until they send you the actual piece. They may very well send you the whole leg. It makes sense for them to send you the piece since they are in Hong Kong and you appear to be in the USA. Shipping is pretty high and it would cost you a ridiculous amount to mail them back for a refund or replacement.

At the very least they are trying to get you the replacement piece. I find a lot of the Japanese retailers are unhelpful with replacements. Ami Ami offered me like $5 back once :lol for a piece missing from a $100 model kit lol.

Hopefully you can get it all worked out man.

Yeah, it's just a little mark from where that part was connected to the plastic "tree" - every single one I've seen has it, including mine. No biggie.

:goodpost::hi5:

Like DPrime said, you're gonna find these sprue marks on all Transformers.

If I wanted to be really OC about MP Soundwave, I could find some "flaws", but mine was pretty good. I only transformed him once, didn't see any scratches or anything, except for some very light, barely noticeable ones on the clear plastic cassette door. Doesn't bother me. These things happen with mass produced pieces, even ones that cost $200 (I think I paid $150, or maybe $160?).

Did you get yours from Ami Ami? Mine's been stuck in customs for like 5 days now :lol. I don't expect to receive him until late next week or who knows maybe the weeks after.

I feel your pain Furyan, I had the same issue with my SW. I ordered from BBTS and they were great! They paid for the shipping for me to send it back and are going to send me a new one. I recommend buying from them for any of your TF releases.

As far as repair, like Jesse said, you'll definitely need a set of small screwdrivers (a great investment in this hobby).

Either way, I hope you get it all sorted out.

For those who have Soundwave in hand, can you help me out with something?
Check the pic below, his left side of the mouthshield looks to have a little damage.Mine have this, and this pic is not even mine, and it has the same thing.Checked multiple pics and youtube videos and it looks to be a common thing with this.
Any help would be appreciated :D

Mine is exactly the same there & also on the front of the legs I have sprue marks.

Both of which are to be expected & don't worry me too much.

Would be nice if they had been smoothed down properly but on the whole it's still an amazing piece & I don't really notice them.

Now if I had an issue like poor old furyan does then that would be a different matter all together.

edstuff, that's cool, but what is it? Scraplet? :)

.

It's proof that the bayformer movies will never be inconic :lol

It's the head from bayformer ravage. Who is probably THE MOST distinctive design in the series IMO.
and it's a really good copy. about what I'd expect his "skull" to look like post end of Revenge of the fallen battle.

No, Robot Kingdom. They're pretty good. I think I got it at the initial price, right away, before BBTS listed it at $180 or something... :)

Ha! Okay, I recognize it now.

Oh, Bay... :dunno I hear we're getting all-new designs in the new trilogy. Kind of a "soft reboot" from what I'm reading. :)

BUT IT'S NOT A REBOOT! I REFUSE TO BE SEEN AS A FAILURE!

Soft reboot my ***.

It's going to have less "bionicle in a blender" designs, and each character will be much more easily recognizable. just watch. it'sll be more "in-line" with the aesthetic of prime

That's what I'm thinking.

I'd rather ignore the first three movies, and it seems like that's going to be a real option in the new movies... but to be quite honest, I increasingly seem to want to ignore them not so much because of the Transformers' designs, but because of Sam/Shia...

I'm seriously waiting for Shia to cameo in one of the newer movies and people suddenly reminisce about how much they miss him:pigfly:

Are you sure they are messed up? Mine looked like that until I swiveled out his feet and straighten them right up and now they are flat.

Plastic tree?

Yeah, they're sometimes called "sprues".

You know, when you buy a model kit and all the parts are connected, you have to pry them off with an x-acto or something? GI Joe vehicles used to come that way too.

All plastic molds come that way - they're just taken apart and assembled in the factory, in the case of Transformers.

Is it supposed to be there? Not really, from a design point of view... just an unfortunate by-product of the assembly process. It would have been nice if it had connected in a different spot, or they had been able to file it down a bit before assembly, but what can you do?

Personally, I'm fine with it. I didn't even notice on mine until others started pointing them out.

DPrime no not a scraplet, Lerath666 is right it's ravage's head. I made it out of scrap metal at work. Originally I was debating making the entire figure but the amount of work that went into just this head was ridiculous so I moved on to other projects.

I have been debating a scraplet for some time tho. Maybe 1:1 scale?

prime is here!

Not had time to free him from the plastic prison yet but holefully tomorrow.

Little sad that the Bottom of the Energon Axe has fallen off in transit but not a huge issue as I can see it just pops back on again.

Just really glad I have him for what is almost half the cost of importing him.

This just in from Toyfair: US MP Soundwave will have all five tapes.

But a lot bigger news, literally: FOC METROPLEX. 2 feet tall, taller then Fort Max(!), light up eyes, comes with Scamper. Pictures will be coming soon.

Also, IDW Generations deluxes.

More here: https://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=336&itemid=19935

Hells yes!!! :panic: So excited to hear about Metroplex! Hopefully he will be as amazing as I'm imagining. Hopefully the IDW figures look good cause I love the comic designs. Also interested to see how Springer and Blitzwing turn out.

I need pictures to show up soon from Toyfair, Springer, Blitzwing, Metroplex, Grimlock vs Bruticus.

Yeah i know how that works, sorry i just didn't understand what you meant by Plastic tree, hehe. The mouth shield is a very unfortunate spot to have it.Any other place but the head wouldn't bother me,but this does.

My ONLY disappointment is with IDW Megatron. It's my favorite Megatron design, so it's incredibly disappointing that we only get a tiny deluxe for it. :(
