WOW! I'm very surprised at the announcement of Metroplex, happy they are making it but surprised they are making a 2-foot tall toy that costs over $100 in the day and age of cost cutting and decreasing the scale of toys.
Gonna own him whatever it takes.

Not had time to free him from the plastic prison yet but holefully tomorrow.
Little sad that the Bottom of the Energon Axe has fallen off in transit but not a huge issue as I can see it just pops back on again.
Just really glad I have him for what is almost half the cost of importing him.

So they actually finally released him over here huh?
Figures since i already ordered mine last week from an overseas seller, i did however get mp Thundercracker and MP Hotrod with him for just over £235 - shipping so not too bad.
Lemme guess....£99? After the debacle with Amazon and the luck we generally have over here when it comes to TF's not being released i lost all hope so i went with Ebay.

You didn't do too badly with the price considering you had shipping involved & got TC & Rodimus as well.
Just hope they don't screw around as much with the release of Soundwave.

Wow that is nice looking. Almost makes me want to break my only TF MP's rule.
Did u have a chance to transform MP10 yet? I still struggle with what mode to keep him (and sideswipe) in. Both modes are stunning and perfect imo. I transform these two more than any TF ive owned. Also wanted to throw this out there if you havent heard. There are two tiny screws that tend to chip Optimus' bumper if you transform him enough. They r located inside the cab windows. Some people remove them,I just put some thicker tape over them.

Nope not even cracked him out of the box yet
Had a busy weekend so just been admiring him in his plastic prison.
I have iGear Faith Leader so might leave him in truck mode & MP10 as Prime for the display
I know how you feel about Sideswipe he looks amazing in both modes it's a tough choice but I think all mine will be in robot mode.
Thanks for the heads up on the screws with Prime I'll have a look when he's free & see what the best option is.
Must say just from seeing him in the box he looks amazing an utterly stunning figure & the colours look perfect, really spot on.

Hmm, well I'm back home with Animated Blitzwing in hand, and I stand corrected. The proportions are VERY similar though.
Personally, I don't like it. Not G1 enough. I might get Springer to display next to my Last Stand of the Wreckers hardcover - maybe! - but I don't see the fuss about Blitzwing. I'll wait for an MP version.

Sorry if you feel like this shouldn't be here, but I have repainting that FOC Prime to get some practice about using airbrush and using different alclad products. About half of this one is done now.
I have a bit mixed feelings about customizing transforming toys. I most likely can't transform him back to vehicle without damaging the paint job, even though I keep him articulated. So, it is a bit risky to do custom paintjob. It is so fragile even though I'm not using acrylics but much harder enamels and alclad products. Varnishing is a one thing, but the more layers of paint/varnish, the more difficult it might be to get those parts fit back together. Some cases there aren't much tolerance. But if I may say; it sure looks better that just colored plastic

Blitzwing looks a'aight, but they really need to do a G1-accurate MP version. I would buy buy buy. Loved that figure as a kid.

i like how your prime is looking , i am also start to paint some of my transformers i have this one , on which iam adding some led lights once they arrive

Of course it belong here! Its all things transformers isnt it?
Your prime looks great, but you are right there will probably be a lot of chipping unless you sanded down the toy in the areas that are most likely to chip before painting.

I got the chromed set, my stacks were missing though, and one of my tanks has a crack in it already. So... not too happy, emailed TFSource though, hoping I get a response back in the morning.
It does make Prime pop in truck mode though.
Sorry about the QC issue and the missing stacks. I'm sure TFS will work it out for ya. They usually come through in my experience.

Thanks glad it will help. I know its not a very flashy video and there's no HD or any of that rubbish, but it gets the job done. Remember you can use these tips on ANY Transformer, not just a leader Prime.

This is a definitely noob question but are model car paints better to use than "regular arts and crafts" acrylics when repainting transformers? I read on TFW that you want to get a good paint that will stick to the plastic but I didn't see any mention to what exactly is "good paint" to use. I was going to get Testor's Model car paints but wanted to check before I bought anything
