Yeah, I was thinking before that, worst case scenario, I'll only get Prowl. But these look so great that now it is a no brainer that I get every major figure using this mold. Not only that, I bought the Red Alert from eBay last night, realizing that I am just gonna get all the cars now

^^ Pre-tty much. This is Takara really changing the game in some ways, because I can't see a 3rd party company improving on this. The quality and speed of these releases is making me less and less interested in unofficial stuff.

It's bad news for wallets on both sides of the pond!

That said I think common sense will prevail in the end and Bluestreak will be the only one I get an extra of as he's the character I have most nostalgia for due to him being the first large scale G1 Autobot car I ever got as a kid and display space is also becoming limited.

So far this year the only 3rd party item I've bought is QuakeWave and the only others I'm definitely going to get are,

Mech Ideas Wrecking Crue

Compared to where I was at this time last year it's almost a 360 shift in favor of official products.

Whilst Takara are making the characters I want at a desirable level of quality I have no problem supporting them.

MP12 is such an awesome mold I'm even considering getting the obscure variant character ( Tiger Track ) and a Diaclone blue Bluestreak would also be hard to pass up if made.

Pretty cool to see the small mold changes between them. I wasn't sure that was going to happen.

Same here. When MP-10 was announced, I didn't think much of it, but now it is clear that they had a strategy in place to co-opt collectors like us, and they're doing a fantastic job so far. After all the Bayformers, and half-hearted CHUG figures, seeing this level of attention devoted to classic G1 characters. . .it's enough to make a guy get emotional. . .give me a minute. . . *tear runs down face*

When MP10 & MP11 were announced my opinion of the Masterpiece line hit an all time low as it looked like Takara were going to do nothing but go over the same old characters again.

Sideswipe's announcement was the real game changer and the odd QC issue aside everything since has been beyond all expectations and even with another episode of Bumblebee's Big Adventure on the way Takara don't seem to be showing any signs of slowing down the number of new Masterpieces they release.

It's a simple formula,

Making what G1 collectors want = Easy money

I wonder why it took them so long to get there, but better late than never.

I’ve just seen the new MP Prowl and Bluestreak pictures, and all I can say is I HATE the direction the MP line is going right now!!

I hate it because although I was always in for each of the season 1 car bots, I think I now need TWO of each

Prowl and Streak look fantastic in both modes. Pretty much flawless and seeing how well these guys turned out I am just praying MP Sunstreaker is still on the table

BBTS has them re-listed as Sept.

I feel ya Bob, I was just gonna pick up Prowl and now I've added Bluestreak as well. Even pre-ordered Smokscreen. They are just to well done to pass up.

Bluestreak's my favorite of the 3 Nissans so I'm very, very happy with how he looks but Prowl's damn good too!

I thought it was one release in July, one in August and one in September?

If there's been a change I can only surmise that the issue with Lamborghini IS related to the QC and that Takara are taking steps to ensure that Nissan don't have the chance to raise similar objections.

Agree with you about the QC issues as I had that darn foot problem with my Soundwave and had to send him back for a replacement. Fortunately my Sideswipe was issue free.

So long as the figures come with no QC issues I'm fine with a little delay.

Yikes, I'll be waiting a while then.

Rumble & Ravage and the rest of the cassettes are also tied into that preorder, oh well.

I'm really thinking about getting a few Prowls as future trade fodder - does that make me a scalper?
