Ultra Magnus should get a pass since he's a "Diaclone" guy like the Season 1 and 2 Autobots.

Plus, you know, you can put the other ones in him. You know.



Even though I HATE that they killed off or otherwise ignored the earlier characters for the most part, I still quite like Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus, and Kup especially. Blurr too, mainly because he was one of the few Transformers my brothers and I had as kids.

In fact, I think the movie had a bigger impact on me than Season 2. For some reason I saw a bunch of the Season 1 episodes but not much of Season 2. They must have changed the times for them on TV or something... I didn't even know Red Alert was a real character until I saw his old TRU Hasbro reissue years ago!

If the armor looks really good and doesn't restrict the poseability of MP10 like City Commander does to the CHUG Prime/Ultra Magnus mold I'd maybe consider it.

But the likely price will be off putting for a character that I don't have any real affinity for especially with me now needing cash for extras of any other Autobot cars that get announced.

Yeah, I think Obama needs to start putting pressure on Germany for this one. The shots w all 3 cars...really like a dream come true.

If they can get him to look anything like this, it would be amazing.

Also, love that HLJ pricing! You gotta think with Japan's new inflation policy, them bots just might get a bit less expensive.

Wow, you have doubles of those!?!?! Most impressive! I couldnt afford all that unless it cut deep into my Hot Toys/Sideshow budget. I've been getting a lot of Hot Toys, so just cant get everything. But having x2 of those to display in both modes would be a spectacular display!

That Bumblebee ain't bad, but he looks a little off somehow. I suspect Has/Tak could do better.

I still have mine from my childhood. Actually have them framed like the pics I posted,front and back of each. See them every day. I really wanted these figures badly,thing is I only ever did get maybe 10 figures total back then(i was 4/5 yrs old),so I guess now is my time to get as many as I can. I guess this line is my grail,started collecting with Transformers and will retire collecting when the MP line dies off. Hope thats a long ways off

I really hope a Masterpiece Galvatron happens. I was dusting my figures today and god is Universe Galvatron a piece of garbage. He needs a figure that does him justice.

Do you guys think something like a missile slots into the shoulder launchers? that would make them longer like the original toy and also have them resemble the cartoon in a closer way. Not sure if MP does that though

ArtFeather Bumblebee is nothing special, a slightly scaled up reshell of an aging Classics mold with an alt mode that's too realistically proportioned to be a definitive G1 Bumblebee.

Were they ever to get the VW license Takara would inevitably do a better job, as would iGear or Fans Toys if the license remains off limits.

Hasbro have nothing to do with the actual design of Masterpieces. Their contribution is limited to changing color schemes for their release and retarded ideas like releasing Acid Storm instead of a character people give a crap about.

Galvatron has been rumored for a while now and after Megatron V2 it's probably got a fair chance of being the next all new, large scale Decepticon.

I remember a kid at my school had a relative who lived in the USA and he brought a couple of those checklists in.

It was cool to see toys like Swoop, Blaster and Shockwave but annoying not be able to get them due their not being available here.

Amazon JP seems to have all the high-res pics for the other MPs, but not these three. So if anybody has them, are they able to post them here, or a link, or message them??

I've resisted the masterpiece series long enough, I really need to pick up Soundwave, he was always one of my favorites from the cartoon and was my favorite TF toy when I was a kid, but I was wondering how the size of this series fits with the original G1 stuff; thats the main thing thats kept me out of TF stuff (besides Kreos ) theres so many scales and differing editions. I'd love to see any MPs posted with their G1 counterparts, thanks!

Man bluestreak and prowl look great. Those pics are gorgeous. I finally picked up red alert. Really dig the pics of him that I have seen. He will look great next to sideswipe. I would like to get another sideswipe but the prices have really started to take off. May still grab one before they shoot up anymore.

There are a few threads floating around over at tfw2005.com that have pics of masterpiece next to G1 figures. Im not sure exactly what you mean when you say if the size of the MP series fits G1. Are you asking if they would look good together in a mixed MP/G1 display?
