No, not here to argue. I'm simply pointing out that today it seems that nothing is ever anyone's fault. It's always someone else.

no swimming doesnt mean dont touch the water, thats dumb.

what happens if the kid was ONE inch from the water? is the gator going to be like "Oh well, the kid is following the rules!!! i guess ill go away now"

Yes. Swimming and walking in an inch deep water are different things.

LOL....OK dude. I guess everything should always be spelled out in EVERY detail so those who can't comprehend simple things can be spoon fed.

Did Disney know the gator was there? If you want to hold Disney liable then every person who owns a pool should be forced to put up a gator or python sign. MANY have been found in pools in Florida.

Other than the signs saying No Swimming?

Swimming...

Apparently I must 'spread some reputation around before giving it to Collectorcol again' but, you know, would if I could man. :duff

you have any idea how many people from around the world visit disney? do you have ANY idea how non english speaking families go?

you seriously think a sign in english saying "no swimming" is something that is clear for someone to translate into DONT TOUCH WATER?

thats why in the parks they have translators EVERYWHERE..... a no swimming sign is not a clear sign.

Specially when the resort has a Man made beach................... That little beach wasn't there, they made it and added the chairs.

pretty stupid thing to do when you have gators on property

Debate all day about warning signs or poor parenting etc. a child losing his life is the tragedy....what he encountered in his last few minutes of life shouldn't befall on someone so young. :(

Should they have to put signs up in 40 freaking languages? Or do you want signs with pics of gators? Maybe a gator sign isn't a bad idea, but again, if I'm visiting another country I'm going to research where I'm going and what dangers there are. Are there signs in Jamaica that say "avoid this alley" or do tourists simply know by word of mouth to stay away from certain areas? If no swimming means go on in to you then be my guest.

No matter what you do in life, people are going to get hurt or killed in freak "accidents."

no swimming is not the same as AVOID THIS.....

No swimming means dont go deep in the water...

There are no swimming signs at FOUNTAINS... something as stupid as a freaking fountain.

Should this girl be afraid of a GATOR in this F-- FOUNTAIN?

You are making my point and Collerctor's point even more right,

if they put a sign saying AVOID WATER, DONT GO IN WATER.
then yes, if you translate avoid water or dont touch water then people will understand to AVOID the water...

a picture of a gator would need NO Translation. you are correct.

the same way we have warning signs for Electricity or cables or poison in bottles.
to not touch or snakes, roads have signs warning of Deer running in the road....

Guess what, GATOR signs already exist, Why the hell does disney not have these signs all over their resorts?

I'll say this, those who see a sign that says "no swimming" and still get in the water, are begging for something bad to happen.

I'll go further, in the health field, it's people like these who argue words that cause practitioner insurance to be so high (never accountable). These people who look for exceptions are the reason so many lawsuits occur and why medical costs are so outrageous.

No accountability...Others are at fault. If only they have a giant sign with lawyer disclosure on it (e.g. no swimming, no wading, no tip-toeing, must not get within 1.78 feet of water, etc.)

As I said before, I feel horrible that this happened. You'd hope that Disney would be a safe place. I'd be more mad at myself than slamming someone else for me not watching my kid. It's a terrible situation but I'm tired of people like accusing others. Just tired of it man. No body wins in this situation. Pointing fingers won't make anyone feel good.
