Despite the length, it seems this piece will weigh about the same as the others. If so, I should be able to offer free shipping. That's assuming anyone will buy it without the two bloody skulls. :lol

The Allos are in excellent scale for a piece of this size. Proportion-wise these are likely comparable to the T.rex in the VS dio. The T.rex didn't seem small, did it? I can't imagine anyone will view the Allos as diminutive here. I'm thrilled with how big they are in comparison to the Camarasaur.

I'd say 12-14" or so. Nice size and the same detail we've come to expect by the looks of it.

.

I love they are in accurate scale with each other...I just wish that accurate scale was more 36" long..heh heh

12" is the size of the Carnegie Allo and it's head is just over an inch...the Rex on the VS Dio has a skull just over 3" and the full length from head to tail of it ballparks around 19-20" about the same size as the Rex Maquette..it's just the twisting of the head and tail...of course if the maquette was straightened it would be bigger as well...but these Allos are pretty straight..at least the running one is.

I might change my mind after I see it in person..the detail is there which satifies one big fear I had..and now they can do a raptor pack piece.. ;)

The coupons don't expire until a year after you receive them. :wave

Then a calling we shall be. :D Thanks for that. I know the coupons can't be combioned, but there's no reason we can't at least get the one to work. That could save $30 potentially, which in this diorama does make a difference.

Damn, I need to go back and see if my coupon is still in my inbox. Maybe I'll get a stegosaurus maquette within a year and be able to use it.

Indeed, more then the Rewards Points are worth. :lecture

Sorry, I should have clarified. The T.rex in the dio is best comparable since it is already to scale with another dino for comparison purposes. Not that the T.rex itself would be to scale with the Allos by any means. I've found that comparing size across the Dinosauria pieces is never an appropriate measure. Remember when we thought the Carnotaurus and Styracosaurus might be to scale? Didn't work out that way. :D From those close up shots of the Allos, we're getting an absolute glut of detail here. Particularly in that male Allosaurus.

To have Allos 36" long in this line isn't realistic. You're talking a $500-700 statue at least. If you have that kind of coin to throw around, more power to you. I have bills to pay. :lol That being said, I intend on setting aside money for all pieces in this line, bearing in mind what we've seen to be the trifecta of success - size, price, and detail.

Glad you're as pleased with the Allo scale as I am. I was on pins and needles waiting for tonight. :)

Spent my rewards points on the HT Comedian figure. I only have $0.75 in the Rewards bank now. :lol That discount is a huge difference by way of e-coupon, though. I'll certainly be calling tomorrow.

:banghead:banghead:banghead:banghead:banghead

Did you try the form as well, argh!

Didn't even bother. A call it shall be.

I was debating that as well. Let me know how you make out, because whilst reading all of those online caveats, it occurred to me that the coupon may have expired. How convenient for we Dinosauria fans to be sent Dinosauria coupons when the next pre-order was a month away, eh? ;)

Yeah, I'll post the answer tomorrow.

That is correct, SIR! I have 3 of those Originals coupons and they expire after one year of the issue date. I just used one when ordering the Vlad PF last month and it worked fine. I know SS customer service has made adjustments manually in the past. This should be no problem.

Indeed, more then the Rewards Points are worth. :lecture

Damn! I'll take that $30 off anytime over reward points. It's $30 off upfront vs. $15 in reward points to be used in the future. (10% vs. 5%)

T.rex maquette is 21.5" long. I'd put it much more comparable to the T.rex in the dio. The maquettes naturally showcase sole dinosaurs to convey as much detail as possible in an individual animal.

I like statues where I can buy them and still, you know, afford to buy food. :lol As we've said a few times now, the matching of the manageable size with this sky-high level of detail and moderate price ensures that the line is successful. The collectors who want detail are happy, and the ones who want a dino in their collection (which may not be dino-centric) are happy to have a piece that they love and appreciate as distinct, and the widest possible range of customers for these products are attracted by the price.

Again, with that base, how much more would you be willing to pay for a more detailed base? I'd be happy to keep the price and base as they currently stand. :D

Just compared the size to the Dio..it's not a whole lot different though.

I just wanted something bigger and better than Safari..at least it's not Kaiyodo gashapon sized...though it does come close to the vinyl piece I have.

It's going to cost me..about 12.00 to make frame to fit this one into..so I pay about that..maybe a little more considering the effort involved.

Bigger you shall receive. Better is without question. Sideshow has me onboard with Dinosauria. I'm in until the end. :D:rock

Sorry, I didn't mean 36" Allos..they wouldn't even be that size on a maquette, I was thinking the Camara would be 36" ..so 20-21" Allos maybe slightly smaller..still quite a better than 12" .

I don't have anywhere near that much...500.00..would be a stretch...I've been selling off my other toys and collectibles to afford these..that said if I'm going full steam into this I want the best I can get..you know ? 350-400 for slightly larger would have been fine with me though.

Turns out I'm getting the exclusive afterall so that 5.00 saved..unless someone wants to sell theirs when they get it ? Maybe they have a preference..anybody ?

Guess I can just get one of those Allo skulls I mentioned before..

I'm still holding on to my rewards points for something that I really want that I won't be able to afford any other way. There are actually a couple items I already have up for order that I would be willing to use them on, but they are sold out.

So are you getting the exclusive? It's a no-brainer right here. :D

I like the price tag at $200-300. I think we'd start to see people dropping off at much higher than that. The line has a solid fan base right now and I'd hate to see it alienate any fans and see a drop in interest in the wake of higher price tags. This scale is ideal for me.

i wanted to use one of those sideshow original coupons on this, but it wouldn't let me. i thought you could use them on pre-orders?

You can, a few of us tried as well; I will be calling CS after the PPO's tomorrow.

Says you can. Want to hop on the train to call them tomorrow? That would make 4 of us thus far. :D

Same here. I tried 3 different SS Originals coupons, but no luck. I filled out a customer service form and should hear back from SS in a day or two.
