I would hope it's Q2 as there are already pieces enough for Q3 and Q4 already.

How did the release work last year ?

Rex and Trike VS Dio June ?
Carnotaurus maquette Aug
Rex maquette Oct
Styrac Maquette Dec

So that's... 4 pieces in 7 months ? One every Quarter wouldn't be that bad.

Right now for this year it's
Deinosuchus VS Parasaurolophus Q1
Allosaurus VS Camarasaurus Q2 ?
Spinosaurus Maquette
?

It sure makes sense to me to release one every 3 months...if it's more we could have a problem..heh.

and the Deinosuchus VS Parasaurolophus dio will start shipping from China and Hong Kong somewhere between late jan~early feb. I wonder when they'll reach SS HQ and worldwide retailers though...

Prob mid-late February..a bit later than I thought. I figured we would have them by the end of February..could still happen I guess. It just depends on how fast they ship.

What the......Im getting jipped here....I've got every Dino piece SS has made. I've never got a coupon for anything?
I check every email SS sends me thoroughly...I guess Im calling them tomorrow

Chris

Yes call, I've just received my second one.

Right now for this year it's
Deinosuchus VS Parasaurolophus Q1
Allosaurus VS Camarasaurus Q2 ?
Spinosaurus Maquette
?
.

Did I miss something, Spinosaurus Maquette was announced?

Well him through you and I think Scar if I recall correctly..and then the mention in PT..so " sources " covered it well..lol

Dan, you mentioned not getting this piece yourself..is it the high price or space ? Just ignore me if I'm prying.. just looking for something more to discuss.. ;)

Eh, I'd say both, but definitely more the price than the space. If I end up getting another one down the road, it will have to be something that totally floors me. We'll see how the Spino works out.

I only mentioned the McVey Spino once it showed up announced in PT, but I'm very pumped to see how it's executed.

Also, it does look as if the right manus on the Camarasaur would be semicircular in shape, if you direct your attention toward the animal's heel, as it looks to have a slight bit of gradation, turning upward from the rest of the foot.

Sorry to hear you won't be getting this one, Dan. I understand what with this coming out so close to the Deinosuchus diorama, but this is truly a must-have for me. Won't be collecting any more pieces from the line for line, only purveying them? Allosaurs are quite a passion of mine, and I relish the opportunity to see our first Sideshow sauropod. :rock

As do I. Though I'm going to try not to buy the Deinosuchus either, I do inspect all items upon arrival before they ship out to my customers. I fear I may find them hard to resist.

:lol Yeah if that were me I'd be buying one out of my own stock. I have a hard enough time resisting just going into the picture threads. I have many things on that shelf that were purchased because of pic threads.

Pic threads, eh? This is dangerous forum to visit, that's for sure.

However, I did hear back from my Sideshow rep today. The reason for the ambiguity of the Allo/Cam release date is due to its current tentative date being set between the two quarters. Their current best estimate is June.

And the people rejoiced.

Yeah, I'm wondering if the Deino will make it out in February. Imagine getting that thing as a Valentine's Day gift. LoL.

I found out that another local retailer was selling this dio for a little less than $500, so I canceled my previous pre-order(the one that cost me $730) and immediately pre-ordered the much cheaper one....

I'll be happy whenever it comes out. Knowing it'll be here soon is fine enough for me. Allows my bank account to swell a little more in the meanwhile. :D

I cant wait to get this piece in my hands...I used my points on this one so I got it for free :D. I hope SS makes these pieces bigger as the line continues. Or maybe make a 1:1 bust one day. I would be all over that!

Chris

One every couple months would work for me... :D

We were discussing price before and several were against a big hike in cost. How much would a 1:1 bust cost ? I can't see a something like a Deinonychus being less than 400.00 ? Maybe a 1:1 Velociraptor head though...about 12" long..that could work.

I was thinking 1:1 (scaled down) pieces cast from the actual bones themselves. Not necessarily the skulls of huge animals like a T-rex. Maybe of a skeleton fossilized in stone as we find them today. Or a 1/4 scale version of a T-rex skeleton in its entirety. Would be a very unique piece to this line for sure.
