so today, May 21st, is the 29th anniversary of Empire, the height of Star Wars greatness, before the dark times of the PT. *shudder* (can't wait to see how adywan cuts them apart)

1 year from today, for the 30th, ESB : Revisited arrives

Oh, and it's obvious, but the whole thing has been color corrected! Dagobah looks amazing and I love that new Cloud City reveal.

I like the new Emperor. I don't know why they did it the way they did, but the hood looked so sloppy in the LFL version.

I could never get past the OT chimp eyes, and yeah the SE wasn't any better. :emperor

Palpatine's face is fine in the LFL version, it's just the hood looking like ass that really hurts it to me, and I would assume they redid the whole backdrop to do it anyway, so I can't see doing the hood a certain way to help the insertion.

Fair enough, I see what you were saying; I view the hood as so much a part of the Emperor's face - I think we are saying the same thing. :emperor

im not sure whats goin on here either, but after looking around on google for 'adywun' or 'empire strikes back revisited' ive pretty much seen its just a fan made touch up of the films, im not sure how he can do this without george lucas totally destroying him though, :emperor
seems like he has already done this with ANH.
looks like he restores things from the original movie and updates certain things like adding more ships or at ats and re-doing lightsabers and lasers.
I watched the anh 'trailer' and have to say alderaan exploding looks quite good

Stars Wars deserves special treatment but I love the flaws and grittiness of the originals. VHS tapes only please

I don't care who adds it so long as it's good.

Greedo shooting first, stupid slapstick moments, tinting the entire film blue = bad

fixing continuity gaffs, restoring the color, enhancing the fxs = good

I was skeptical, but ANH: R is the only version I will watch anymore. It's everything the SE could've been. It looks and sounds great! All the SE excesses are removed and the new bits only improve what was there and are minor and seamless. I can't wait till next year! It'll be like seeing the best Star Wars film again for the first time. :chew That new Bespin shot still gives me goosebumps, not to mention Vader's saber is no longer that horrible pink.
