I've never heard of ANH:R. So its something you have to download on your own right and burn it to DVD yourself? There isn't copies to purchase obviously due to copyright or is there?

So, can any Freaks help me in obtaining a copy of ANH:R? Pretty please? With Ewoks on top?

I've heard about it and read the thread,
but I still have no clue if it's a download or if he sells copies or what?

I don't like fan edits of anything i like. Even if they're really good, dunno just they way i am.

Me either. One of the reasons is that I actually liked the original. I got the Wal-Mart exclusive a couple years ago for $15 so the SE problem is solved as far as I'm concerned.

And a side note, I've never seen a site that had so much hate for someone. They are just movies people.

That's the other reason.

But what if you didn't know it was a fan edit?

This is the only fan edit of any film I have ever seen that I enjoy. Seriously, if you love Star Wars at all, I assume since we're in a SW collectibles forum, you owe it to yourself to check this out. If you are really against any changes at all, there's always the purist edition that is only an HD color correction of the SE.

Personally, I'd be very sad if I only had the official craptacular DVD transfers to view. After seeing the rich colors - whites that are actually white and not dingy blue!- and hearing the amazing 5.1 sound, there is no going back to the swill LFL peddled. Hmm... HD version of the film, color corrected the way it was meant to be seen with 5.1 sound doesn't sound appealing?? Watch the DVDs if you insist, but you guys are missing out big time.

Im going to have to attempt to download the ANH version again. What I'd love is to be able to burn the HD transfer to a DVD and watch it on my PS3.. but I have no idea what to look for or how to do it :lol

What I did was download it to my computer then transfer it to a flash drive, then transfer it to the PS3. Now it's on my PS3 hard drive. :banana

:lecture This is the definitive version of ANH for me.

Is he making these edits from the 1080i broadcasts or from the DVDs? The 1080p encodes look phenomenal and it would be wonderful if he was producing these in 1080p as well.

ANH:R . . . I can't even express how much better it is than the regular version. There's so many details. It's not even like the film is changed, just enhanced, all the blasters actually hit, things like the Death Star Plans on Yavin match up with the plans from the prequels. Everything matches up, there's so many details. It's great, the planets have new textures. It's really what the prequels should've looked like. Same dingy, run-down universe, just cleaned up.

Okay, so maybe I did express it a little bit. :p

"For the source I have used the 2004 PAL Retail DVD and for some sequences the HDTV 1080p x264 release ( if only this had come out when I first started this release). New 5.1 audio mix track with reversed surround channels fixed & a greater surround experience. The imperial march has now been added in places. Includes mainly a remixed 2004 DVD 5.1 audio track with elements of restored monomix, laserdisc 5.1 audio, german 2004 5.1 mix, on set audio and new elements."

You won't miss the 1080p for the most part. It's really gorgeous. He is using the 1080p broadcast for ESB:R.

Wow, I wonder how long he has been working on these edits considering the 1080p encodes came out at least two and a half years ago. Judging from the trailers he has done a phenomenal job and we should be paying him instead of George Lucas.
