His changes for Jedi and then the PT are much more drastic, which I like. So far off...

He's only half done with this one.

How many films are actually available on dvd? can someone PM me info please?

check over at originaltrilogy.com for info. But be sure to read the threads completely or use the search function in the film preservation section before posting questions. Chances are it's already been answered.

I did get the ANH:R and while he has done a great job with most of it, he also fell into the trap of adding a few extras that I thought fell into "I'd like to see that" rather then Improving & cleaning of the movie.

Adywan outdoes Lucas and ILM with his cuts. His ANH: REVISITED destroys the Special Edition in every way. Can't wait for this. :rock

Gah I cannot wait to see the ESB version. Curious how he will handle Jedi and the PT though.

I don't think he'll ever get around to the PT. I'm sure ROTJ alone will take him forever, though. :lol

I love how he actually builds real models and stuff for his inserts. :rock His stuff is actually much better than what Lucas has done... and he's on a shoestring budget without an ounce of Lucas' resources!

I looked on that site and still don't see a way to obtain a copy.

And a side note, I've never seen a site that had so much hate for someone. They are just movies people.

I do agree his version is better then the SE, and many of his changes are what I thought Lucas was going to do, there's just a couple of changes that are Meh! doesn't ad etc!

Adywan completely redid ANH which is in sections on youtube & I love it. And TESB is well my favorite movie..So viewing the trailer...I am looking forward to 2010. :D

Until you've seen a copy of Adywan's work, you really can't appreciate how much effort this "fan" has put into the films. There's nothing about his edits that look amateur. If someone had never seen Star Wars before, they would have no idea that this wasn't the official version.

It could be argued that a few changes in ANH:Revisited are indulgent, however he has fixed the major complaints everyone has had with the Special Ed version (Greedo shooting first) and really overhauled the film into a true special edition that respects the original 1977 version yet expands upon it.

Mostly the fan edits can only be found on the bit torrents now since the MPAA threatened fanedit.org several months ago and all download links were removed.

I'm sure that a few forum members here may be willing to help out those who have trouble finding these edits or who aren't as familiar with using bit torrents. I know I've burned a few copies for SSF forum members.

specific examples?

Everything he changed was well done and well reasoned. The changes in Ben's hut were the only boarder line ones for me and after a viewing or two make a lot more sense and flow better than the original conversation. The re-edited duel and DS attack are also much improved, faster paced and more exciting.

stuff like this is just brilliant:

Just watched his Battle of Yavin...

THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!!! Nearly everything wrong was fixed...

Great work Adywan, whoever you are....

It's so hard to get fanedits these days. The major complaint I have about SWANH:R is the ommision of the Jabba footage. Wish he would have left that in.

But the updated Greedo footage and the extra Death Star battle stuff is awesome.

Jabba's reveal is much more powerful saved for the final film. I hated the ANH Jabba addition. Completely unnecessary repetitive dialogue that Greedo just said in the previous scene, terrible cgi, silly stepping on the crime boss that's threatening your life, Fett staring into the camera, ugh. The whole scene is just a fan-****.

Only the holo emperor comes to mind as a grotesque ESB:SE addition. That and the 3-4 different Wampa models that don't match up .

Yeah, it's best to leave Jabba out of ANH. Redundant scene. Adywan made the right decision by cutting it.

Esp as relates to Han's dialogue, I think it is just about word for word with his conversation with Greedo.

This was only a CG test for the LFL crew.

I've never heard of ANH:R. So its something you have to download on your own right and burn it to DVD yourself? There isn't copies to purchase obviously due to copyright or is there?

I don't like fan edits of anything i like. Even if they're really good, dunno just they way i am.

This link...

....lists all the fixes and changes Adywan made to the official "Special Ed" Edition of ANH. It's a long list, but it points out in detail all the glaring technical errors that Lucasfilm and Lowry Digital completely ignored (and some new ones they created) when they released their DVDs. Adywans SW: Revisited really is a labor of love, and should make Lucasfilm Ltd hang their heads in shame for the sloppy product they foisted on the DVD buying public.
