Wow...eighty bucks for West? That's the first one I really have to think about before I order...

I noticed that price on a place card at the NYCC... seems pricey to me for the quality level.

Although I have to admit that image looks a lot nicer than the previous ones I've seen of the figure.

I was so stoked to get the Herbert West, but man, is that head awful. My 1/6 model was limited to 50 pieces & COST LESS. The likeness on mine is bang on. I'm considering removing the head & bashing a new 1/6

Expectations shot down in flames,..........................................crash

I live close enough where I can drive to amoktime, then again they may sell out.....I really do want bub and herbert west though.

Do you happen to have a pic of the West model?

More accessories would help make up for the likeness... i mean come on toss in the head in a pan and a dead cat

Yes, the good Doc's head would be great. But the Combs likeness is really off. Are those shots from the final version? Jeez, I really want a Herbert West, but not so bad I'd buy this one. Would a repain bring out the likeness?

Those pictures are not very flattering to the work. I've seen the Herbert West sculpt in person, at the sculptor's studio and at the NYCC. I am not a Re-animator fan, so I didn't pay much attention to it, but it struck me as being fairly close. According to the sculptors and Executive Replicas, Combs has seen the head and did not request any changes, so unless there is an uproar from fans that will likely be the sculpt that goes into production. I've meet the sculptors a few times, and they are committed to bringing the best portrait sculpts to every project they are assigned. If you have some constructive criticism I suggest you send it to Executive Replicas. I am also interested in seeing the kit you speak of. I have been collecting garage kits for 12 years and I don't recall seeing that one, or paying less then $80.00 for a 1/6th scale figure kit that wasn't styrene or vinyl.
