I for one like the TV series - but you do need to give it a chance. It really takes off in Season 2 with the introduction of the Watchers, and also once they get rid of Tessa and bring in Methos. I also like the later version of Richie.
I'm just the opposite, I thought the show was decent early on and went downhill after Methos came in. I seem to recall Duncan turning evil some time in the later seasons, that's about the point I tuned out and never looked back.

And thus, this is why every Highlander from The Quickening on makes no sense because there is no continuity whatsoever. Highlander 2 is basically an alternate universe B.S. storyline that is generally ignored. Highlander 3 had something to do with Mario Van Peeples walking through some kind of time-dimensional doorway to the 20th century which somehow rendered the Gathering non-existant. End Game was a failed attempt to crossover the film franchise with the series. Now The Source is a trilogy that will explain the origins of the immortals over 3 films and then we have two completely different animated shows set in the future fighting giant robots that have absolutely nothing to do with anything so why even call it Highlander when it is deceptive bait-and-switch advertising to milk the brand-name of a franchise that should never have been.

Dark Quickenings. They were alluded to in the first season before duncan fought Grayson, when explaining how Darius killed the oldest immortal at the time and it turned him from a warrior to a pacifist. I believe he was only "evil" for two episodes or so.

I don't want to know the origins of the immortals, the mystery is part of the fun.

"It's a kind of magic."

The ONLY thing I saw wrong with the series was the total lack of continuity. If they had set it series before the events of the first movie, and over the seasons, built up to the fight with Kurgan and Connor that would have been awesome. During the series there could have been appearances by Kurgan and Connor, slowly working them into the story line. Then when the show was canceled all you had to do was watch Highlander to see how it all ended.

One thing I cant get over is a lack of continuity in a story line. As a stand alone entity, the show was ok, but I just hated the lack of continuity.

The think I like most about the show is that if you poke Denger about it he gets very defensive and will actually respond to the stupid arguments I (and others) post. Classic, thank you Adrian Paul for that :lol

Very well said and I wholeheartedly agree....:rock

And I understand your love for it, Dengar.. I do. Opinions mean very little in the scheme of things and you shouldn't worry. You like what you like, we like what we like. It doesn't really matter. The series had it's good times and it's very bad times... I never really got into it. But that's me. You loved it and that's something that will never change.

I loved the first movie, flaws and all... and I'd probably defend it just as valiantly as you are defending the show and Adrian. Like I said, it's just my opinion and it's amounts to nothing. The only power that opinions have are what we give them. If you take away the power of a statement, it's just a string of words.... not much.

We could go on and on about the merits of the show and the things we didn't like about it. But it would be pointless and eventually spiral off into a flame war that makes no sense, and I am one to tell you (from experience) that it doesn't end well. Just do what I could not, diffuse the situation and don't let it bother you...

:peace

Good point and I agree with you, however, I just tend to ignore certain things, :D .

and for the record I like the first movie as well as the show, I just don't need to express my love for the movie because everyone would just agree with me and what fun would that be?

True's true.

So they made sequels to HIGHLANDER?

I'm almost positive there can be only one.

What else is there to talk to explore? Maybe have them come from some stupid planet yet retain their earthy culture names and have them save the world with a shield of some kind? Maybe they can bring Connery back and have him act all stupid like a man in awe of the future.

That sounds great! How about after that they just re-do the first movie except with some bs sorcery subplot? Box office gold!

The first few minutes of the new highlander film "The Source" are up

I'm at work so I haven't looked at it yet (video links disabled) but I'm really looking forward to this movie even if it sucks :)

Wow simply awesome. Adrian looks great for his age truely an imortal! Was it confirmed these would be straight to dvd? Hmmm. I wonder what the game is going to be, I hope it's not some RPG thing, I hope it's a fighting game where all the imortals from all the movies and series collide. That would be really fun.

The only thing I really know about the Highlander T.V. show is that it used to come on after wrestling.:lol

I would have watched it but it was always on at the same time as my favorite infomercials. :lol (just kidding dengar ;) ).

Wrestling and Highlander is pretty much the same, isn't it. It's all about putting people to the ground - for good. I know it's right, for I'm always right :D
