Oh, that's a bust. For a minute I couldn't figure out what Chewie that was. Yeah, I would be happy with sculpted hair personally, as long as they could figure out a way to make it decently and subtly articulated.

Thanks, Sean...
Yeah, I think there are all sorts of ways he could be successfully rendered, even sculpted. I hope so, because Han is looking a little lost on display without him...

Isn't it funny how even with Leia, Ben and Luke on his way, somehow Han just doesn't seem to fit in with Chewie, it's like a Reese's cup with no peanut butter. Which leads me to this; if and when they do R2 and 3PO, they best wait until they can release them as a 2-pack, one without the other will not do.

Man I'll tell ya...the more I handle this figure and snap shots, the more impressed I am....he really is quite good.

Been waitin' for a chance to snap this...

They look pretty cool together...

Nice Job, I was thinking of doing some similar stuff myself. I'm not going to try replicating ANH Han and Jabba with figures, but I was thinking something conceptual, like Jabba hiring Han for the job that got him in trouble.

Now that I have my ANH Han, more than ever I want an ANH Jabba made. Considering that the popular Jabba has been made and didn't sell well, I think my wish is just a pipe dream, oh well.

I think a big part of the reason for Jabba's poor sales is 1) expensive throne, 2) throne sold separately, 3) uneven number of Jabbas vs. thrones. Less thrones were made, and not many people want Jabba without it.

As for an ANH Jabba, I think the ROTJ Jabba is the only one we need since that's the Jabba which should have been featured in ANH.

Well, I agree ANH Jabba should have looked like ROTJ, but obviously the setup of the scene wouldn't accommodate that and even didn't accommodate the design they did use. However, if they'd used the TPM Hutt, it would look ok, I think he looks close to a younger, more slender version of what he came to be in ROTJ.

Unfortunately, this is quite off in the anatomy.

And this just looks terrible.

I wonder where LFL would step in, but if Sideshow made a Jabba in the TPM design, I think it'd be really cool. I love Jabba and it was exciting when he was put into ANH for me, despite the technical issues, and I remember how excited I got when Hasbro put out the Han and Jabba figure set.

Hmm...TPM Jabba could be a possibility. I'm just thinking that the time span between the events of ANH and ROTJ don't seem like they'd result in a major noticeable change in Jabba's appearance.

Well, being an overweight person, I can attest to quick changes haha. Regardless, had the scene in ANH been done with Jabba designed for ROTJ, I'm sure that's what would have been used, but they changed it to fit the scene. In the established SW law of Jabba, by ROTJ he was too large to move himself, hence his henchmen moving the throne around, but in the PT and ANH, he was smaller and mobile. Just give the mobile Jabba anatomy that looks like with age and added weight would turn into the ROTJ and you'd be fine, which is why I'm behind the TPM design, that looks like an early ROTJ Jabba to me.

Great repaint Josh!!! You really did a nice job of bringing out the sculpt. I wish you worked for SS!!

Even if Josh worked for Sideshow, all it would do is improve the proto paint jobs, it won't change the abilities of the factory painters, that's where the biggest change needs to take place, the factories, not so much in house.

Unfortunately, you are correct....it would be nice if SS would get a better hold of its QC out of China. I wonder why HT doesn't struggle with this?

Well, it could be that being overseas, HT's proto painters can be more hands on with the factories, or they've just hired more talented painters. Of all things, I will say HT definitely sets the bar for production figure paint apps.

Yep, right on the money. Protos would be the only thing I could do anything about. It's all about the factory, but it seems like things are steadily improving... so there is good news. :D

And I too would one day hope to work for SSC, but... all I can do is go to SDCC and beg. :lol

So last night I stayed over the girlfriends, and had Han along with me. She said the sculpt looks just like a young Harrison, and she liked the outfit but she DID notice the hands were too big. Overall though she said it was a really good figure so that just reaffirms it in my mind. Love the figure and glad I bought it.

You got it, lawtonn22!

Just got a new camera today (after nearly ten years using the old one) and here's some of the results....

I really like this figure the more I look at it....a lot!
