Wow, gratz on the new camera jedibear - nice clarity in those photos (tho grainy-ness is not always a bad thing) and I look forward to seeing more :clap

Great pics Butch:D. Unfortunately Ex. Han was one of the casualties (I just didn't see the need for the Greedo killin' gun) so I'm still waiting to get the regular from my Canadian supplier. I can't wait though because these pics really make him look outstanding. Now we definitely need a Greedo and Cantina environment (maybe just the booth?) announced at SDCC.... and of course I'm ALWAYS hoping for a MILLENIUM FALCON c_o_c_k_pit 1/6 environment.

Ok, I have to be honest... When you guys began showing the pics of Han, I was worried that he wouldn't look that great.

I know, I know, SSC figures always look better in person. We say it all the time on the podcast. But when I received mine last week, I was saddened to see that it looked JUST like the photos. so to you guys: Great photos! To SSC: Sigh. Don't like the paint.

Gripe #2: I guess they were worried about the backlash from Bespin Han's tiny jacket, so ANH Han's vest fits better. To a fault, in my book. It keeps closing and looking like it's fastened. I need to see that white shirt, man. It's part of Han's gestalt, you know?

Gripe #3: Yeah, what up with that belt? He's got loose rivets and pouches going positioned all over the place. Sure I can spin them and fix them, but I shouldn't have to.

Mostly it's the face, he looks like he's mid-coke binge. Up all night with Carrie, I guess. ;) I'll be in touch with one of you guys for a repaint for sure.

That said, here's some more pics:

I did enjoy him more as I messed with him for the shoot, but I know that the repaint will make me love him more :love

Good stuff Ed, unfortunately those pics don't lie either. I will definitely be getting this sucker painted (my first ever repaint), now it's just a matter of who?

A comparison shot between the two Hans. Both are repainted but ANH Han takes the cake for realism. His head and facial features are proportionate to themselves and the body and that, to me, is what makes a realistic looking 1:6 figure.

Even if ESB Han were to get a perfect repaint he would never match the look of Trevor's Han. I wish all of SS's figures would recieve extreme scrutiny when it comes to proportions because even if the sculpt isn't dead on it could be somewhat overlooked by achieving a realistic looking collectible figure rather than an ok looking toy.

Nice comparison shot... I still like the Bespin Han-- standing on his own.

I half to say after looking at the above pick, the ESB Han looks a lot more like the Fonz from Happy Days than Harrison Ford.

Trev, thanks again for delivering this great sculpt of my favorite SW character!

****, you're right!!! He does look like Henry Winkler!!! :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

I just posted this on the ESB Luke thread, but I HAD to compare the Habro Han with the Han we just got:

Old Han looks like Ron Silver next to Harrison/Henry/Travolta here.

So, yeah, thanks Trevor and Sideshow!

Well, I agree ANH Jabba should have looked like ROTJ, but obviously the setup of the scene wouldn't accommodate that and even didn't accommodate the design they did use. However, if they'd used the TPM Hutt, it would look ok, I think he looks close to a younger, more slender version of what he came to be in ROTJ.

Unfortunately, this is quite off in the anatomy.

And this just looks terrible.

I wonder where LFL would step in, but if Sideshow made a Jabba in the TPM design, I think it'd be really cool. I love Jabba and it was exciting when he was put into ANH for me, despite the technical issues, and I remember how excited I got when Hasbro put out the Han and Jabba figure set.

EGADS, those Jabbas are ugly. And probably not safe to even attempt a special edition Jabba. Who knows if George will redo it again and have it look just like Ep6 Jabba (which he should since it's only like what... 6 years earlier?)

Well I got a belt that looks to be about right off eBay so my Han will have the proper belt instead of a plain black belt. As I am fairly happy with everything else this is probably the only change needed for me to be totally satisfied with my Han. Now get me Luke.. and maybe a new tunic to go with him... :lol

Hello all, I'm new here and have been a longtime lurker. I just wanted to say I received Han today and all I can say is WOW!!!! Pictures do not this beauty justice and I really think that despite the price hike he's totally worth every penny. Thanks for the beautiful sculpt Trevor and all those involved in the clothing department. I cant wait for Luke so he can be displayed proudly next to ANH Obi-wan and Han. Still working on getting Leia but Hot Toys Joker and Batman coming so Solo will remain solo for the time being. I wish I had a camera to take photos but all I can say is if your on the fence on him, DO NOT HESITATE get him now!!!!

I hate to go off on a tangent, but putting Jabba back in ANH has got to be one of Lucas's dumbest ideas. In the trilogy as it originally was, you had them mentioning Jabba a few times in the first two movies as a sort of foreshadowing, so when you finally got to see him it seemed like a big deal. That's all out the window if he appears in the first few minutes. That's apart from the fact that the CGA in the scene doesn't work at all. (And the fact that Han steps on this merciless crime lord's tail and gets away with it.) So yeah, no interest in another Jabba. The Phantom Menace one would be cool in a way, but not different enough to really warrant a new figure, given the size and expense.

welcome, cerealkeller! Yes, he is a good figure. I'm also looking forward to Luke so he can join Han and the Princess on display...

Man, great repaints...

And Coco I agree with you about the ESB to ANH sculpts, the proportion on the ANH makes such a huge difference.

Absolutely awesome pick JB--- Fantastic!!!!! But you know that with the addition of Luke it'll just make the absence of the droids and Chewie that much more dramatic... Unless we get a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry welcome surprise at SDCC.:naughty

Agree totally. Add that to the list of things Lucas did retroactively that undermine the power of the original storytelling.

PLUS, the dialogue in that scene adds absolutely nothing to the story. Jabba says exactly what Greedo said 30 seconds earlier. And the self conscious Boba Fett look at the camera to cap the scene. ugh  Terrible scene that, at the least, ruins the flow of the story at that point. Should've stayed a deleted scene.
