I just wanted to update this thread with Cocoboloboy's repaint he did for me recently. Great work man!

Nice repaint!!

I haven't been into the 12" figs since the early POTF days and never thought I'd get wrapped up in them again and concentrate on statues only. Old Ben & Han got me back into the line though. Gotta stick with the ANH 1/6 scale figs though...next up Luke, Leia, Stormtrooper(s), and Vader!!

I have to chime in here a little bit. :(

Looking at this figure makes me want to get out of 12" collecting all together. It just doesn't do it for me. It's got the monkey arms of Jedi Luke combined with a poorly-fitting costume and a face that is completely devoid of expression.

That is all...commence with the flaming.

Not gonna flame you Monk, but you couldn't be further from the truth. Besides making generalizations can you be a little more specific?

No flaming You are completely entitled to you opinion as are we all.

That having been said, my opinion is - I prefer the neutral expressions. It affords more opportunity for poses. A neutral pose with a screaming expression would not work. Whereas I can imagine that if he has an action pose...he is just about to make the face.

I do not see an ill-fitting costume. If you mean the short sleeves...that is how they are supposed to be.

And as far as monkey arms go...they appear to fall to just above the knee as it seems to me that most humans' do.

It's a shame we have to get repaints for some of these to look right.

Medicom Han for me.

Great job COCO!!!

Yeah, no monkey arms on these two... sure the Buck is outdated, but honestly on these 2 figures it hasn't been a huge issue for me.

I still have issues with the Buck but it does work ok for Han. I also felt the expression on Han's face turned out to be more of that usual smirk he has once he was repainted but the factory paint left it looking a bit bland.

Nice pics by the way Deak! So glad you like him.

Han simply highlights the deficiencies of the Buck.

The Buck needs to be retired asap. Personally, It's made me pass on several figures that I would have picked up IF the body were better.

I took this shot of Han when he arrived a few weeks ago:

But he just didn't look right on his own so I bought the best Chewie stand-in I could find:

I think the scale is ok but the arms don't bend at the elbows. Same with the legs n knees. So that's a bit lame... Still better than Han on his jack jones.

Oh no you didn't. You didn't pose a Sideshow work of art next to a Hasbro figure, did you?

Say it ain't so!

A Hasbro Chewie is better than no Chewie at all....

Maybe....

Sort of....

I guess.....

Nice pic K.

Well it was this one or the 'real fur' one which just looks ridiculous in my opinion.

Really a case of 'which shet smells better' syndrome... can't wait to see what a decent 1:6 scale Chewie looks like... what form it will take... he's like my fav character

:chew

Awesome repaints guys! Again, like everyone else has said it really emphasizes just how sharp Trevor's sculpt really is. I've got to get back into painting and repaint both my Luke and Han - makes a world of difference. Hopefully within the next week or so I'll pick up some new paints and get to work on things.

As far as Monk's post goes - I don't agree with the monkey arms thing, but yeah the buck needs to be retired for these guys. Use the buck on zombies - fine. Star Wars et all? Not anymore.

My consolation is that these figures were pre-ordered prior to the Prometheus announcement (weren't they?) so I can forgive the issue, and the body actually seems to work with Han and Luke ... relatively, somewhat, sort of, I guess.

It is a shame that two of the best recent offerings in the Star Wars line ended up on buck bodies though.

Oh yeah, and we need a Chewbacca so bad. After looking at Karaduin's post I'm even rationalizing that the Hasbro Chewie isn't that bad. Nice shot regardless.
