Hair looks about the same color to me...just the skin tone is lighter on the prod piece so the hair looks darker.

But the tunic -- at least in these photos -- remains the big disappointment.

Hopefully not as big as Leia's dress.

The material if its like Leia's will be a giant screw up beyond comprehension. Looking at all the HR shots it really appears to be similar to Bespin Luke's Jacket which is fine but honestly its the color. Which in these shots look almost a creme on the production and not the almost off/dark white color.

If they were going to screw something up, I would've preferred the pants, or something else that isn't the focal point of this figure like the tunic.

Looking at the HR shots I don't think so. In the HR shots Leia's has a sheen to it where as Lukes doesn't seem to.

My real worry is the trifecta of bad: weave, color, and material thinness. Not much you can do if all of those are duds.

Well, except for custom-make an all-new tunic, which is what it looks like I'm gonna do. Damn shame for an $80 figure, especially when the proto tunic was PERFECT.

What's more frustrating is Sideshow remains quiet on why changes like this were made.

Its obvious why it was changed. To produce Luke with the proto tunic would have taken the price beyond the price point Sideshow sets for these things. If it would create a figure above the set price point, they need to cut corners.

It sucks, but thats the way they do things.

Looks like Sideshow partnered with Hasbro on this one.

I hate it when you are even remotely right.

Getting the tunic FINALLY right was one of the main reasons I was looking forward to this release. I'm keeping my order since I used Reward Points for him... but I'm not happy about it.

I might have to wait for the Medicom version of the farm boy to finally get the right tunic.
