what i'd like to see is someone deliberately give the thing that crumpled-creased look that the actual garment has. Maybe soaking in water and scrunching up into a ball and letting it dry might help.

Also... aside from how 'freshly ironed' it looks, and the fact that it looks a little too 'cream' in colour, does anyone else think that it's a little too short? As far as I can tell from all my reference pics, it should come down further on him a bit, but it should be much more 'hangy' around his chest and tum, and not so pulled tight... so i think it may need to be longer, to achieve the 'looser' look.

(also, whats with SS characters having their belts up tight around their ribcages when the belts are always supposed to be looser, and hang much lower around their lower tum/waist

(anaking, obi-wan, other obi-wan, luke.. etc)

The reason it looks short is because of that dreadful snap button, but if you don't use it, you can futz it more so it looks longer.

So if SSC figures are crap, where are Hasbro, Diamond Select, and Soldiers of the World fall? Is there a level lower than crap?

Soldiers of the World were actually pretty decent figures for their $8 price, especially their double jointed figures.

Good post Darren. Made me realize I should be looking at the movie pics and not prototype vs production ones. I'm definitely going to replace his tunic now.

It's all a matter of futzing. So far, everyone has taken fresh-from-the-box pics.

But the tunic weave and the cream color we're stuck with. Not sure if anyone will really replace their SS tunic for a Hasbro tunic. I can't remember what the Hasbro tunic looks like really, but I think it was "felty".

There was a little black paint smudge on the nose, but that's gone now. This really is the Luke I've been waiting for. All the pages of Tunic grumbling should be deleted from this thread. The material is great. I think everyone who is getting this figure will be happy with it.

yeah you can see on that what i meant. the bottom left corner of the tunic should be lower, and able to go further round his side. And that damn belt. Now whether you can get closer to that by fiddling with it a bit, I'd like to see..... if not, then I might make my own from a pillow case when I pick up the figure
