I definately think the costuming for the ANH Han is improved over the Bespin Han.

I just don't see much improvement in the SW outfits if any. But as you said they weren't that bad to start with. Still, for every Old Ben there is a crappy Leia dress or shoddy Han shirt or Luke tunic. There have been blips steadily through this line. I've seen no sign of that decreasing over the course of time.

Tim Miller rocks but Mat has never really impressed me with his portrait work.

There will be bumps in every line. I have 4 POTC figures from HT and two of them are disappointing. Well, then we just disagree with the lack of blips.

I'm curious as to what the definition of an apologist is and when the supposed lack of critical thinking stops?

To me, an apologist is one who instead of just agreeing that the tunic is poor feels compelled to make up an excuse for it.

I have to say that I like the figure just fine from what I've seen. Further, everyone who has it IN HAND seems to like it too.

As to the whole quality debate, the issue hasn't changed since monkey-arm Jedi Luke. Prices are up everywhere. SS is no exception. Sucks that a $49.99 figure now costs $69.99 but that's where we're at.

If the economy keeps diving with the dollar then we can expect a base price of $79.99 by Christmas.

Yeah,but the SS line has been speed bump heaven.

I think the tunic is a step down from the jacket. But the pants on my Bespin Luke weren't great to begin with, so the ANH may improve over that.

This is true. The cut of the material fits better. I don't see any overall improvements in the costumes compared to Jedi Luke though. His outfit was nice to begin with.
I have however noticed some disappointing steps backwards in outfit quality throughout the line.

No, agreeing with me doesn't have anything to do with being an apologist. Its the always finding a reason to back SSC, calling them "decisions" and saying "we don't know why they did it, but I'm sure it makes sense" or "I know SSC well enough to know they'd never slack on something".

Its just the process of helping SSC avoid fault that makes someone an apologist.

I think this line has been fairly decent from the get go. Each figure, other than Old Ben, has had issues for me and I don't feel like I've seen any real improvement in quality other than the sculpts. At least there hasn't been much back sliding - other than the increase in price and the decrease in accessories like the last 2 Jedi figs, and the disappointing material choices for Han's shirt and Luke's tunic.

The pants, and boots of ANH Luke are awesome, believe me:

and the tunic, is not as bad as I thought it was going to be, it actually looks pretty good. I do hate the snap button, so that's coming off.
