Sooo how about the cloth leggings on that thar Luke dollie? Wonder if they are elastic or what? Will we be able to redress Luke, or is he dressed for good save the shirt?

I'm a Die Hard SideShow collector but I wonder if they're getting word from Hot Toys to bump up their prices. At $77. Luke still sold out rather quickly, about 2 hours I think. I wonder if Hot Toys has SideShow's ear and whispering "bump up your prices, we charge $150+ and they still buy it."

Hey this may still be America, "Home of the Brave" but I am getting a little scarred on the price hike, especially with a looming recession. The mighty dollar is sinking faster than the indestructible Titanic. Please Sideshow, hold off on the heavyweight billing for the figs that require such an expense.

... Why in god's name not? If he exists, (he doesn't!) and is omnipotent, and controls every single minute particle of matter in an inconcievably complex and infinitly vast Universe, then a) I am obviously pre-ordained to take the lord's name in vain every once in a while, so, christ, it's his fault, not mine, and b) Sideshow had no choice but to raise the price of figures in the Star Wars line. Out of our hands. No choice.

Don't seem to be pre-ordained to buy this figure at that price, though.... Steller job though it appears to be!

Such a small mind... You think this is the only universe? Thats a lot of baby sitting. Keep your soullessness to yourself.

I dunno if that's the case. I think it's more giving you an insight into the next pricing scheme for when armor comes out in the next month to 6 months. But yea, the dollar does suck right now. I sent some money for a few things to a fellow Freak and our dollar was doing bad against the pound.

ok guys, let's return to the world of toys. i got my order in....the excl. is worth paying full price imo.

Lets be honest, there are enough Hardcore collectors that the limited Luke exc. was going to sell out ... even if it was 99.99. But the real test will be the regular edition. I don't see it selling out that quickly ... what with 4 other Lukes out there, combined with Bespin being released so recently, and the ANH price gou .... um, increase. Don't judge an item based on the exc. ... judge it based on the regular edition (i.e. ANH Old Ben is getting impossible to find, but Leia and Bespin Luke are still available below SSC original price.)

Yeah I jumped over on their website to order this one and immediately backed out. I'm simply not going to suffer these ridiculous, never-ending price increases.

Hot Toys may be whispering in their ear but SS products are and always have been inferior to HT's.

Sideshow!---It's time to come back down to earth my little friends.

$60 is pushing it, but $70+ is down right 'tarded.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't really get worked up over any of this stuff personally. Sure, I can vent and let off some frustrations here and on other boards... but that is the sole reason why these sites exist: to discuss toys, collectibles, and the hobby. That said, this is the "Sideshow Freaks Message Board" and some of us are taken aback by the $69.99 price on ANH Luke and this is the perfect place to share and discuss those thoughts.

I don't know Carl. I've seen you get fairly worked up a couple of times. Boba Fett ring a bell? :lol

Seriously though some people really do and they act like SS, Medicom, HT, GG, etc whoever is taking their blanky from them. Where as some of you guys are just venting which is cool by all means.

This exclusive, IMO is not worth 10 to 15 dollars more. Truth be told, the exclusives have been slipping recently. The Mynock, Jango's Helmet, Kit's Droid head, those were "Damn, got to have 'em" exclusives. Binders? A mini-mini-mini statue from Palps office? Those I can live without. Plus, it might be the angle of the shot, but the floppy hat looks off. I would rather save the 10 to 15 dollars and put Hasbro's floppy hat and googles on him if the mood hits me. But, that's .....

I agree. This will be a big test. You can still get almost every Star wars regular edition figure released to this date. SideShows been giving them away for promos. They once said that they have a warehouse as big as in the end of Raiders, if that's the case, I'm sure they don't want to fill it.

I worked on the hi-res image, it's really amazing how much this IS ANH Luke.

I've seen too many pre production photos from SideShow to get worked up over. Look at their John Wayne Calvary officer. His hair was supposed to be Gray, and he came back brown.

Depending which factory Sideshow sends this sculpt off to it could be hit or miss, and I think they need to start tallying the complaints and recognize that one factory is simply better than the other, and phase that factory out.

I love the sculpt to MF but I know better than to think that the finished product will look as clean and nice as this.

Well, even with a slight downgrade in production paint, I think it'll still look quite good, if it gets to the right factory. For the most part, Old Ben's paint is immaculate, if this Luke gets the same it'll be quite something.

Ok, I think this one looks better.

Did you only tweak the eye color Maulfan or did you adjust the shape of the eyes themselves? Because that looks FANTASTIC.

One thing that is certain, I'm finding myself *much* more excited about OT figures than those from the PT. Bring on Theed Amidala, Nute Gunray, Clones and the rest but bring on even more of the OT. :D

The regular is the same price $69.99.So your paying the same price for non Ex

Not if you buy the regular off a retailer... probably save about $7. I'm not always over the moon over the exclusives (this is a good example) but might as well pay full retail and get a bit more IMO.

Now if a figure just comes as a regular edition, then I'll buy from somewhere else to save $$$

I cut out the eyes along the sculpt's eyelids. Look at the hi-res portrait shot Josh posted in full zoom. If you look carefully, you'll notice some paint bleed from the eyelids onto the eyes, and the eyes have a fleshy tint to them, so when you pull back to a low-res shot, you end up with a distorted perception of the eyes.
