It may not be justified in your opinion but that doesn't make it fact. So I think you might be missing the point.

As far as the outfit looking at the high res it appears to be well worth it.

Josh, I figured you had read enough of my posts over the last 2 years, that I don't have to begin every sentence with "But this is just my opinion".

And, sorry, your hi-rez pics only hurt your argument. Luke is wearing a friggin' tarp with a belt. Don't get me wrong, that was the point of the outfit in the movie. They were poor farmers. But, don't tell me that a loose fitting shirt with minor stitching is so complex that it cost more than 20 to 30 dollars more than Jedi Luke or Boussh. With all due respect, no one's rose colored glasses have that much tint.

Take a look at Subject 805. You are telling me that Luke's sculpt and outfit are SO MUCH MORE COMPLEX that he will cost them 25 dollars more to produce than that figure? Not even licensing costs could drive the price up that much ... and for clarity ... I am Douglas' dutiful opinion standing before the gaze of The Josh.

Any chance Sideshow could just sell me the naked figure with Luke's head sculpt? Cause I can get this on Ebay for 20 dollars right now:

And, other than the crappy facial sculpt and body, I would take those items and outfits over what they are offering for 80 bucks. Oh ... and look Sideshow, a Stormtrooper belt ...

Sorry, that was probably uncalled for ... been reading too many of Chavez's post recently ... :monkey3

Not to point a finger at Sideshow, but 805, like the rest of the dead are mostly reuse from other figures. So yeah, I'd say Luke is more expensive for a reason.

Vest, weapons and ear-thingy and probably the boots: Dogget Special Agent

Outfit, I think platoon or another military line:

Yes, I have but the way you worded it and I will quote it again for you was a statement of fact. NOT an opinion.

We are upset because the price increase is not justified.

Again, that's not an opinion that's a statement of fact.

The outfit looks fine and the pics show that the figure IMO is worth it. Why I like a figure has nothing to do with the same lame ass bull**** reasons some of you wonderful (using this sarcastically) seem to think.

They don't have to pay the fees to Lucas so that will already help make them cheaper and yes that will help make the figures more expensive or cheaper. If you don't get that then you don't get economics.

I am Douglas' dutiful opinion standing before the gaze of The Josh.

What the hell? I give my two cents on a statement and you get all ****ing disrespectful. No wonder you piss people off. What a ******.

I'll be placing your ass on ignore. Not because you said something against SS cause honestly I don't give a damn but because your being a ******.

Its a beautiful figure and probably the best ANH Luke 12" that will ever be made. He's just more expensive than I'm willing to pay.
Looking at the basic figures, I have a hard time believing there is even $50 of actual production cost per figure.

And a new report just came out this week that 85% of China still makes less than $1 per day.
I'm not angry, more a little sad that the niche that SSC appealed, the more affordable high end collectible, to is disappearing.

The blast helmet would have been nice, even if it would just sit there. Would have been better with Ben. An idea would be to do something with the hair so that it can detach. If he had a neck like the females, an adapter would have been a choice.

Understandable that he's just more than you're willing to go. As far as the niche disappearing I don't know because everything is going up. So those in that niche either need to be willing to go up a little or be picky either way is understandable.

I'd be more for an adapter. I've yet to see a 1/6 figure with the hair separate to a point it could easily come away that didn't look toyish. SSC's Aragorn, Faramir and Boromir along with HT's Elizabeth Swann look like they're wearing plastic toupe's compared to hair sculpted right to the head.

Some of you vastly overplay the affect of Lucasfilm's licensing fees in all of this.

Yes, they are not cheap... but they are also NOT the reason why the baseline for these figures has now reached $70. (I don't know what those reasons are, but it's not that).

Well that becomes the big problem. Everything IS going up, including necessities, gas, food, clothes, etc leaving toys way down on the bottom of the list.
I love this company. I even love my cheesy Willow figure but 'I have a bad feeling about this.'

I'm sure its a factor, but maybe Sideshow just wants to make some extra scratch?

I agree with both. If they do fine with me. Jesus they're a company looking to STAY in business and I for one want them too.

If you want to buy them buck up the money. If not then don't. Why is it such a travesty when collectibles companies raise prices but not so much when items we ACTUALLY need go up every day yet we don't *****. I understand venting makes you feel better but that's all its good for. They will know when they've hit the top end when things really slow down.

Once again, as I try to intone in every message I post, I am expressing my opinions. Could I have ended the sentence with "is not justified IN OUR OPINIONS"? Sure, but I would think that was a given on a forum. Sorry for thinking people could infer here.

So, I try to argue a point with you, using mild sarcasm and, IN MY OPINION, a witty Fight Club reference. You curse me out and call me a name. But, in YOUR OPINION, I am the bad one. Either I hit too close to home, or you need to cut back on the stress sir, IN MY OPINION, it might help. You want to ignore me, more power to ya. A person with a valid point debates. Other's take their ball and run home. But don't try to blame me ... IN MY OPINION, it's wrong.

IN MY OPINION, it seems your steadfast attacks on any Sideshow related complaints along with your own statements that could, IN MY OPINION be constrained as assertions of fact in their favor, angers far more people than my occasional rants.

In fact, IN MY OPINION, you took the humor as a personal offense. While it's only MY OPINION, I was trying to be playful, whereas you were trying to be hurtful ... but what do I know, it's .... well, you know :monkey3

Right which I again ask why do we get so worked up over toys?

It is scary. I've been budgeting out my life to make some changes, and I thought I was pulling in a decent yearly salary but in the current economy, if I make some changes without getting a new, higher paying job, I will hardly have enough cash for food. It's insane how hard to get by in the modern economy it is for a single person.
