Dont you guys think Bespin luke had a bit too much lipstick like the anakin did? not to mention the lifeless eyes.

He wasn't Sideshow's best paint apps, BUT, I think the Bespin Luke production paint made him look like Hammil and the Prototype did not so I was pleased with the changes, and I feel the same about ANH Luke, I see Hammil in Trev's raw sculpt and I see it in my PS modified image, but I don't see it in the proto paint apps so I'm hoping Hammil is in the paint of the production figure.

Yeah, the Bespin Luke production paint wasn't great... but it was much better than Anakin, which is among the worst.

What's the issue with Bespin Lukes paint? The hair being maybe a touch glossy but the rest of it looks just fine. The skin tone especially on him was quite nice. Anakin outside of the lips was fine as well IMO of course.

Well, Bespin Luke's eyes were a bit TOO pure of a white for as open as they were, so they did look a bit strange, but again, for me, I still see Hammil when I look at it, and the proto paint NEVER looked like him to me, even shots from conventions which can usually make a difference, he still looked weird.

The eyes here look nothing like Mark Hammil to me.

But these do.

And I don't get the lipstick comment, lip color seems fine to me on him.

MaulFan, where might I see both of these ...?

I goofed, I was thinking of the Han Solo production blog images of Trev's Han regarding raw sculpt, but I do trust his talents in the sculpt department. I'll dig up the PS image I did of this figure after, not sure what name and such it's under, I really just tweaked the eyes, they weren't Hamill (see Neil, I've got it right now lol) but I think the PS job fixed and really, most of the issue was that the flesh tone on the prototype bleeds a bit onto the eye itself causing a squinting look, you can see it in the high resolution image.

The Bespin Luke sculpt is not one of better Sideshow sculpts Imo (with the exception of Andy B proto)

The symmetry is deformed in the sculpt making his right eyeball which was already larger than the left even more noticeable.

Looks great in DA's custom beat up Luke, cause it looks like swellng.

I have my Luke in with Josh for a repaint (non beat up version), so I'm sure his magic will help considerably.

I hope ANH Luke will be closest to perfectection out of the Lukes offered so far.

My Praji has a really good paint app and im hoping that the Luke it up to the same standard.
Strange thing is i got 2 Praji, one with a great paint app and one with the worst ive ever received.

I'm not really concerned at all about the quality of paint application on Luke, my concern is that the paint is used to capture the likeness more than the prototype. The prototype is painted very well I think but it masks some likeness, particularly the eyes

Here's the difference between the proto and my Photoshopped eyes.

I'd guess that number two is Luke visiting his friendly proctologist for a check-up.:google

Seriously though-- at least for a moment I think you're bang on in that the photoshopped one definitely has more of a Hamill look about it.

It's the power of Trev's sculpt, it can work for various emotions. The SSC proto paints look too much like him squinting from a few brief moments on tattooine, but the rest of the movie he was basically wide eyed taking in everything around him and I'd rather the figure have that look and I think it makes it look more like Mark than Luke Sunsquinter.

I agree 100%. Good observation.

Yeah, I think the eyes might be a touch too open on the photo shop work. As of right now I like the squinting look a little more. Especially for the pose I want to try.
