Those of you who own Yavin Celebration Luke better start saving now because you will want to buy an extra Luke to swap heads.

Guys...
Trevor just showed me the unpainted sculpt. Wow. Those of you who own Yavin Celebration Luke better start saving now because you will want to buy an extra Luke to swap heads. This sculpt is dead on Hamill. Definitely just as good of a resemblance as Ford in the ANH Han sculpt. Trevor remains humble as always, but DAMN HE'S GOOD!

That's what I was afraid of :lol I will be watching Toy Anxiety like a hawk when he ships.

That's encouraging to hear as I'd really like to get the figure to go with ANH Obi-Wan but was put off by the proto pics which IMO barely resemble Hamill.

Ya, I'd think he'd have just posted pictures here if there was no harm letting the boards see in any capacity, private or public.

In any case, I believe this will be the best of all of SS's incarnations of Luke and he will be THE ONE to own. :lecture

Well, the portrait will certainly be the best most likely, and the overall figure one of their best, but ROTJ costume and look is THE Luke for me so this is just another Luke.

Once Les, Darren, Josh, and the other painters on this board start posting pics, you will see that this is the definitive Luke so far. Sideshow has hit another home run thanks to Trevor Grove!

SS hasn't hit anything unless the paint apps from their own end hold up. I don't want to have to send it off to someone to get it looking good. If the sculpt is good fine, but the paint should be acceptable from SS as well.

Well I just managed a nice chunk of cash off eBay so I don't gotta worry about my Luke, Han and probably Aayla. Might be selling off a few more things though. *Sigh* I need a job ASAP.

Agreed, it's not a homerun figure if the quality from the factory requires a repaint to bring out the sculpt work.

Yeah, the option to have it repainted is nice but SSC's production painters shouldn't be so sloppy in the first place.
I know they don't get the same time to spend on each head as customisers do but for supposedly "high end" figures the paintjobs are often poor and in many cases ruin the great work of the sculptors.

Well, after you release 20 different versions of a character, the lastest one should be the best . . .

:lol
