Not trying to come off as hostile. I just think your POV is very askew.

Must be a PETA member to put an animals life over the things mentioned above. Tied yourself to a tree lately? :slap:lol

I'm not a PETA member but i value animal life over humans, I frickin hate people so screw them, but if I see you torturing and animal i would surely go to jail over it. I will F'in destroy you!

Ok maybe not VERY askew... only slightly.

Dream shatterer you are the most askew of them all. :lol

IMO, if a person can be this cruel towards helpless animals...
how do you think does this person treat other people? its not very good.

spanning from domestic violence to serial killer in the making the least.:dunno

:lol yeah you're probably right, my puppy is my child and will always be (I will never have kids) so I really take these things to heart. But that doesn't mean I'm a treehugging hippie or that I belong to orginizations that promote terrorism. I just love animals and I do think that anyone mistreating an animal should be killed, simple as that.

it's been proven that serial killers start with animals.....

So hang on...

If you found yourself in a weird alternate universe where there was a game show that had two rooms. One with a guy beating a dog and one with a guy beating a kid and there was giant anvil (like from an Waner Bros. cartoon) and you had to choose which abuser the anvil fell on you would all choose the dog beater?

loco la cabeza :cuckoo:

Why does it always have to be about choosing between two situations that would never happen. Anytime there is a conversation about these kinds of things it always devolves into a "well your obviuosly crazy because you love animals so much".

Stepping out of your alternate reality let me put it this way if my house is on fire then i expect the fireman to rescue my girlfriend and my dog because I don't see why I should have to choose.

My coworker saw what I posted and she asked "well what if the dog was Lassie and the kid was Adolph Hitler?" :lol

I don't understand why there has to be a choice? Wouldn't it be far easier just not to abuse either one of them? And if we pick the human does that mean it's OK to beat the dog? I don't see how that example makes it any less evil.

well it seems that when people (especially on the internet) want to make a point they go the most extreme route that can be imagined. Honestly sometimes it works but in this case it does not.

Nor was it meant to be. 'Twas posting tongue in cheek.

But the point is that the polarization of topic comes from comments like "I value animal life over human life" which brings with it certain anecdotal presumptions like if you see two men, one beating a child and the other beating an animal you would save the animal based on your very own comment. It was that sort of (presumed) hyperbole which I was commenting on.

It works when you're trying to show that someone is oddly valuing animal life over human life. In this case, you said that outright ... so I'm not sure it works here.

If my house were burning, I'd expect a firefighter to go in after my wife or daughter ... but I'd hesitate to ask a man risk his life for my dog. Get the dog if it is safe to do so, or if you're in there anyway -- but I don't think I could live with myself if some kid grew up fatherless because I sent him in after a dog.
