Yellow Jacket

Pretty cool. Nice touch with the helmet looking familiar to Ant-man's.
Interesting to see their design for Wasp.

Looks pretty bad-ass. Supposedly that will be the Ant-Man villain. In the comic, Yellow Jacket was initially a variation on Ant-Man, and was Hank Pym (it was in this guise that he smacked the wasp around), but later it was a female villain.

Iron Man was definitely a B-list character prior to the first film, though he was a borderline A-lister in the comics. Cap was in the small group of A-list Marvel characters as I would define them, but his lack of exposure outside the comics put him well below Spidey, Wolverine, and Hulk in my mind.

At least he...or she looks cool. Much better than a guy in a suit.

It's clear that Tony Stark is the protagonist and the "Wolverine" of the franchise. Capt has a much better role then Cyclops and he's the leader, but not the protagonist. That really became evident when Stark and Loki had their verbal "showdown" before the battle. The leader of the villains and main antagonist vs the main hero of the film.

It's funny, Iron Man became the "top guy" after the 2008 film, but before that, it was Capt who was the protagonist and main character in the Avengers. Just 2 years before Iron Man (2008) was release, Marvel made an animated Avengers film and the story revolved around Capt.

Notice Iron Man's place in the animated film, before the 2008 RDJ film.

Now notice Iron Man's place in the Theatrical poster...and who is that back there? The leader. :lol

Tony Stark the character is not the leader of the Avengers in the fictional world, but he is the protagonist and the main character in the real world, just like Wolverine.

:exactly:

Reminds me of Iron Spider-Man or a movie colourful MGS villain. Aside from the colour it looks nothing like YJ

Looks like yellow jacket, much more than the classic design.

But if you want it to look like a man in black leatherette with pointless belts and armor then better beg Brian Singer and he might shove similar character in his future X-meh.

One of the worst designs. Nothing like limiting your field of vision with giant blinders on your shoulders. :lol

Oh I get it, it's okay for this to be different from the comics but not others :cuckoo:

They casted Eisenberg as Lex and people freaked out because he didn't look like the comics. Take this and make it different from the comics and everything's cool.

The comic design is ridiculous...

He's go some cool powers though. I doubt he'll do all those things in the film.

Genius-level intellect
Size-shifting from nearly microscopic to ~100 feet gigantic (both at extremes)
Ability to transfer his size-shifting ability to other beings and objects.
Bio-Energy Projection, also known as a Bio-Sting (particularly during his periods as Hank Pym/Yellowjacket
Flight using grafted wings during his period as Hank Pym/Yellowjacket
Superhuman strength, stamina, and mass in giant form as Hank Pym/Yellowjacket.

Plenty are though, Electros starfish mask for one.

Ridiculous or not when those are updated for the screen people complain because they aren't accurate. But with this and some others there's no such complaining over accuracy.

I don't get the acceptance for some and vitriol for others when the principle is the same :dunno

Don't get me wrong I like it and couldn't care less about it being accurate but others get so much hate for not being accurate I find it hypocritical for this not to as well.

The principle is the same, but the costumes, characters, and films aren't the same, and those are factors people take into consideration when accepting or disliking the design of a character. I think if a character is iconic, then people don't want those costumes to change drastically. If a costume looks silly in the comics then they want something "cooler" or more believable on film, depending on the type of film.

YellowJacket is not well known, so most people are receptive to any changes made to the character, especially if it makes him look "cooler." Now, if they change Spiderman too much, some people won't be happy.

The double standards are indeed hilarious.

Remember a couple months back when they were bashing Electro, Rhino and Green Goblin? Complaining about how they looked like generic videogame designs and stuff? Yet here you have a very obvious generic videogame design, something you see everywhere in videogames these days, and people are still praising it. :lol

Don't get me wrong, I like the design a lot, much better than the comicbook one imo.

For me, I think Vision is a good example of how I feel about changing origin stories and such. I love Vision ever since I started reading Avengers and love his comic backstory. Sure, they're turning JARVIS into Vision but I think that it could be fine as long as they keep the traits that made us readers love Vision onto the screen and I think they've pretty much done with with all the heroes so far in the MCU a save for a few big changes that actually work better for the character, ala, Tony being way way more funny and jokey and something as important as Peter Quill's connection to his Walkman. I don't mind changes as long as you make them work and adapt the character in a way that could still respect the source material and keeps what made everyone love said character/storyline, etc in the first place.

My only wish, or hope, is that Evangiline's character becomes the Wasp. It's just something that needs to happen, since we can't get Janet.

I'm assuming that is going to happen. In terms of ASM 2's villains, I think the main complaint was that they looked lame, which they do (with the exception of Rhino IMO, which I thought was kind of cool). Yellowjacket looks pretty bad-ass.
