Any chance of a V2/DX P1 Pred?

What they should do is revisit the AVP Preds, with better headsculpts (among other details).

Especially that God-Awful Elder. I am sure there focus will be on the new movie coming up though.
Word does have it there will be at least one more Lost Pred.

I think theres a strong chance they could revisit the avp line. Hot toys seem to watch their customers an awful lot so I would think they know how popular the avp figures were/are. The same goes for the aliens line.
I have all the original aliens figures but I know for a fact I would buy dx versions of them all again.

I hear ya. Now Im not rich, far from it. BUT Im not that terribly off either. Im actually pretty happy where I am at with life. BUT My fiance and I are needing to save for our wedding in two years AND we would like to get a house sometime in our life time (preferable sooner rather than later) so yeah, Id prefer HT space these suckers out a lil more. Im thinking 2-4 HT figures a year is my limit. And that may even be pushing things. Like 1 every quarter I could see myself (more like my wallet) handling better.

I think that they need to slow down also to not over saturate the hobby. You get too many figures out in a time frame and you run into a problem like McF or NECA is doing...it oversaturates the market....just my opinion though.

The Pred 1 figure they did release had a flaw: Height. I wouldn't put it past them to go DX on this figure. Especially since it's the one everybody loves. I'm expecting it to happen sometime.

I don't think they're going to fix the height problem - if that was something Hot toys were bothered about we wouldn't be talking about short predators in the first place, they'd have done it right first time out. Its not like Predator is a new film and they didn't know he's supposed to be really tall. To correct the problem it wouldn't just be a case of making the legs longer, the entire body would need to be bigger to maintain proportion. Plus it would pi$$ people off no end who bought the first figure and have no desire to have more than one.

Its sad and annoying but this needed to be right at first attempt and it isn't for whatever reason. Hot Toys will make more money on this character and they'll do it without going to the cost of having to completely redo the base body.

Speaking of the height issue.....

They say its 14". And SS new Vader is 14"....Are they both the same height?

Does anyone have a side to side comparison pic?

I havent gotten either one yet...but I want them both to be pretty damn tall.

I could actually see this happening... but not for a while.
I'd hope for moving eyes, dreads more like the elders, maybe some metal elements and real leather belts. But the thing I'd love to see them try, and if anyone can do it HT can, is a lever operated opening mandibles. They'd have to be silicone so they didn't degrade but wouldn't that be cool. A bit like the aliens projecting inner jaw, but with the double action of seperating and opening with a silicone membrane.. Go on HT do it!

Sounds like a good idea. I'd be on board for the DX, but I don't know what else they could add in terms of accessories...

Also, I'd prefer to see more charcters from P1 before seeing a P1 DX.

Well back to the main subject.

Wolf Predator should have came with a cleaner kit from the beginning. He had both shoulder cannons, cleaner kit, med pack, and spear on his back most of the movie. Sucks that a lot of us had to buy both or scavenge for parts on ebay to create a complete Wolf Predator. Maybe that's why the value so still pretty much retail on both?

Battle Damaged Predator 2 came with a lot more accessories that we all saw in the movie. They also gave him open mandibles. The blood stains were ehh...but it was an overall very awesome figure.

Now if they upgraded P1...what would they give him??? I mean through out the movie all he used was his shoulder cannon, wrist blades, and medical kit. His light up targeting system is already build on. There's nothing else they can give him. P1 is perfect.

If they come out with a non-battle damaged bio with light-up targeting system it would piss off all the people on ebay that are paying around $100 bucks for just that piece.

Not really much they can give him I agree in terms of accessories, but they could make him taller as that seems to be the biggest complaint, they can also make his bio not look so bobbleheadish. As someone else pointed out they can give him real leather belt and perhaps make his mandables open and close without having to detach them (though I don't know how that would work honestly) and as you said they can give him a non battle damaged bio with light up targeting.

Again though I understand why all of you who bought the V1 would be pissed if HT made an "improved" or DX version, I know I would be but in all honesty, how many of you would still buy a DX Pred one if they did make one and you had the money? I know I probably would

The mask is a poor fit - thats my main complaint at this point. Its many peoples favourite biomask and, because of the way it doesn't cover enough of his face and it sticks out so much, many of the same people are probably the ones saying that they actually prefer to display this one without the mask. And the red mouth looks stupid.

actually, moving eyes ain't too bad an idea... but ain't worth another figure. the eyes are not key features on a predator
