What ticks me off is that I still have to file. Since it's basically a flat tax, why they waste the money with all that paperwork is beyond me.

Got my federal return last week. I filed a week and a half before that online. No state or city forms to file where I live.

Hell, got mine over a month ago and paid my car off, as well as getting other bills caught up, and getting a few luxuries.

I don't get city taxes, but I have to pay township taxes for the township I live in as well as the one I work in. Ridiculous!

Not necessarily! Don't you end up oweing when you make TOO much?? I thought when you don't make much you end up getting the majority of your taxes back.... At least that's true with me only working part time and being a student......

How long would it take for the IRS to contact me if there is an error, or if I have to return any money?

It can take up to 2 years. Last year I got a notice about an error on my 2008 tax return. I had to find all of the paperwork to support it was not an error or else pay $2800.

Not necessarily! Don't you end up oweing when you make TOO much?? I thought when you don't make much you end up getting the majority of your taxes back.... At least that's true with me only working part time and being a student......

Most of the people who get all of their's back don't make that much to begin with. I would gladly pay in if it meant I made a lot more than I do now.
