Am definitely 'scared' to get into a discussion with someone who already considers me a fail.

Sam you are not a fail in my book. :cool: People don't understand healthcare and it scares them. That's all. I think you have a firm grasp.

:lol No, the boy got them all and the wife and I got the flu shot but the H1N1 wasn't readily available to adults here in the bay area... if we could have gotten it we would have. I know what you mean though... I know some peps that have young kids and don't get them vaccinated... total fail....

Yeah, they were only available for high risk groups initially.

I don't think you can tell anyone who makes educated decisions for their loved ones a fail. :lecture

An educated decision would be based on clinical data, which has shown that the risk of adverse side effects from vaccines is astronomically small. The fear of vaccines is based on no such clinical evidence. Thanks to people who don't get their kids vaccinated, we could again see the resurgence of diseases we thought to be long dead.

I can appreciate your point of view.
I studied and looked at the various options as well as the possible side effects. For me and my family getting my child vaccinated was the right thing to do. Subsequently I'm going to hold the opinion that others should do the same with their children.

My daughter got the H1N1 vaccine and then the booster shot. She's fine. I say if you have the opportunity to get the shot, get it.

If you are scared of vaccines, you are fail.

I are not fail and I are not scared. Don't like them and are allowed to not.

Here is some logic for you:

scared of vaccines = fail

Sam =/= scared of vaccines

Therefore,

Sam =/= fail

...but you still haven't said why you don't like them. :huh

Thank you, Keith. I appreciate that.

Depends on whose information you are reading.

I am not going to get into this.
I will say that for every "truth" out there, there are just as many "truths" on the opposite side.

And after studying them for over half of my life, I have made an educated decision.

I will just say this because you are very very uneducated on the topic and this has political implications that the board does not allow. So kids need their vaccines. Please take them. However, let the adults make up their own minds. Especially the non at risk healthy ones. If you want to know why insurance is such a big issue in the states its because of non informed people that think they need everything for a $5 copay. Thats all I have to say.

I wish... :lol

Sorry!
I thought you were justifying why I was a fail.

=/= ------> "not equal"

I don't go insulting people I don't know on a message board (well, maybe a select few)

In my mind, everyone is entitled to their opinion as long as it is informed when it comes to important decisions.

I didn't get one because my doctor told me I didn't need to. So I didn't. I did get the regular flu shot which I've gotten for the past 10 years. I work around germy kids, so I need it! :lol

If I had a child, that would be another story.

Yeah, but you called everyone fail right off the bat!

Just people who are scared. :D

Personally, I don't think anyone should turn down a free vaccine, unless you have some kind of egg allergy. It may not save your life, but it could save the life of someone else down the line.
