The head sculpt is awesome, that's all. I am not feeling it and to boot the wife ain't impressed with it. That's usually a good indicator that it's so-so lol

I would just return it if I were you man. Or sell to fellow member. You don't sounds impressed with the final product. Gotta be happy with what ya get you know?

I hope this doesn't offend you, just think you should put your money towards something you really really want.

Or do you think it is entirely the paint and damage making it not appealing?

Right on. For $650 you have to love it for sure. Well I'll get to make my decision on Monday. I really hope the QC is up to par on mine but I'm not holding my breath at this point. We shall see

I feel like I need to see some pics... Some of the stuff like the rough sanding and tiny mark on boot would not effect me personally.

You have a very different idea of what's acceptable on a $600 statue then I do buddy. I certainly don't expect perfection but marks or chips are not ok on any statue for me

Not offended at all. IMO peeps are just being impressed by how big it is. IMO it looks like a big blob of grey, needs more paint detail. It feels like Great Ultron PF all over again. Like looking at a big piece of clay.....lol

It isn't as if the design changed since the prototype so I am not sure what you were expecting there. Your quality control issues are valid concerns though.

Oh man I just canceled my order so someone will hopefully get it.
I don't really like how the paint turned out and the QC issue is scaring me for a $600 statue.
Last time I tried to get is QC problem fixed and shipped with new parts, SS took 3 months++

It does look awesome, but not for me! :)

The design didn't but sure the proto looks 5x better in the paint apps....that will make or break a statue, especially something of this size. I know Sups has less paint but why did that one come out great and Apoc just ok, feels rushed to me!!

#598 exclusive edition is spoken for!

Only issue I found on first inspection is this bogus little piece missing and lines on the left side of the chest.

I love this statue. The size is impressive, and when it comes to display presence, size certainly does matter. I don't get the weight complaints. It's plenty heavy. The base is very heavy and the body is heavy enough. Doesn't feel like an eggshell, it's just not made from a particularly heavy material. Feels solid enough to me, even though I'm sure there is some hollow space inside.

I like the paint fine. I don't remember having a different feeling about it at SDCC. I will say though, that I don't necessarily think the $600 price tag is justified. Mostly because Batman PF seems about as big and for $200 less, even if much of that size is in the base. And Galactus isn't THAT much bigger and costs $200 more. It's like after the first 20", ever inch is another $50.

You returning it or trying to get a replacement?

You returning it or trying to get a replacement?

Neither. It's not a big deal to me. They'll probably offer a replacement or about $50 in credit towards another order to keep and I'll take the credit. It's not a big enough eyesore for me to go through the hassle of returning it, but it is a big enough **** up that I shouldn't be stuck paying full price either. If I find other flaws on the body in the next few days before I email them, then maybe I'll ask for a replacement. Just found a small line in the paint on the right thigh, but again, not a huge deal. My paint came out pretty well, so I wouldn't want to risk getting a replacement with worse paint.

Thats what she said ;)

Well, she's a ****ing ho, isn't she? :)

Got mine open. Looks pretty awesome. The head sculpt is great. I must say that lighting is everything. Once I set it under some cabinet lighting, it looked awesome. I can't fit it in my Besta though, and I don't like the viewing angle on top of my cabinets. So I have him squeezed into the Besta for now...

Part 1: nice, I agree with you.

Part 2: LOL. Every inch over 6 she should be paying me...

Looking at this guy and my other statues, it may be time to make the full switch and sell the rest of my non-statue collection and just keep the statues.

Awesome pics man!

What non statue stuff do you have?

Well, that is not a short list... I only have um... 8 or 9 statues. I have like 26 1/6 figures, avengers, star wars and randoms. I have some pretty pricey gokins from fewture and bandai soul of chogokin, some smaller robots... a bunch of monsterarts figures, some figuarts and d-arts... a few voltrons... some neca predators... then some random stuff here and there... as well as my old power of the force star wars collection from when I was a kid, which is huge and all in storage. Too much stuff and I'm starting to realize it. I've tried to focus and finally got past the "buying whatever looks cool" phase but am stuck in the "buying characters I like" phase, and I like way too much stuff... so it's coming time to narrow it time to a type of figure/collectible... like 1/6, statues or robot gokins. Ultimately out of those 3 I think I go with statues, as much as I love the other stuff. Just kind of talking out loud here.

I originally found the hobby because a friend collects 1/6 figures. Thought they looked cool, went to the website, saw the statues. 1/4 scale statues blow away the figure most of the time. Hated the fact that they were just high quality action figures.

The statues are so exactly what I wanted.

I'm a little different though in that I want my avengers 5 man team, and then I'm stepping out of buying until money really isn't an issue.
